I went for a walk this morning – early before the heat of the day set in – yet for the first time this belly button sweat has happened…guess it’s here to stay! Gross!
I was armed with sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and icy water. I am the girl that asks for “no ice” in restaurants all day long….until this week. Ice, yes please!
I showered up and headed in to Great Harvest for a bit (and had a piece of muffin for a snack) before heading over to Holly’s.
I went out to my friend Holly’s house to say hello. Holly sold me her baby swing since she no longer needed it – the Fisher Price Zen swing – so we are now a baby gear kinda family.
I also got to practice my baby photography! Finn was cute as ever! Hard to believe he used to be so tiny.
He is almost crawling!
On my way home, I drove right by Whole Foods. I remembered we needed milk, so I went in for that, and came out with lunch! I was too hungry to bypass the salad bar without filling up.
In the box – mixed greens, wheatberries, kamut, cauliflower, potatoes, pasta salad, tofu, pinapple, a bite of mac n cheese and a piece of meatloaf (for the iron..
)
More ice on the side – in the form of 1/4 strawberry lemonade and 3/4 water. Need more please!
I am currently in the company of an air conditioning service man – just to ensure our unit is functional before all its hard work these next few days. I think it passed the inspection! Whew. Although I hear we will need a new one anywhere from 1-5 years from now. Better start saving…

LOL I have never seen belly button sweat!
I love the food bar at Whole Foods! It takes a herculean effort for me not to hit it up when I go there.
What a cute bebe! That curry califlower is sooooooo good! I love some WF salad bar.
That’s one heck of a cute baby to practice on!
Cute, cute, cute baby faces!
Finn grew! Funny how that happens
And yes to making sure your A/C is good to go. When you need it, you need it to work!
Haha! That belly button sweat picture cracked me up! I never knew that happened but it’s too funny!
Haha I didn’t even know belly buttons could sweat! Such a cute little guy too!
I could not survive this heat without air conditioning!
Your strawberry lemonade with lots of ice looks so refreshing for this hot weather. I am sipping on a glass of Earl Grey Lemon Iced Tea I brewed this morning…the perfect cuppa!
Baby feet! Loved the little baby feet in the pictures. Curles toes and all.
What kind of milk do you use? Cow or soy, almond, etc.?
Organic cow’s 2%
Oh my… How adorable & happy Finn is

That belly button sweat is just too cute! Glad you took a picture!
Haha I had to stop into WF for some tortillas yesterday and magically came out with dinner! funny how that happens…
Look into extending/buying a home warranty. I bought one for $395 and in the past 3 months they have fixed my fridge ($1000), AC ($1500), and a leak($250). Only cost $60 bucks out of my pocket for each. HUGE SAVINGS!!!
I’ve always said I never want to be pregnant in the summer! I already get grumpy when I’m hot, or hungry, or tired….pregnancy is going to be horrible for my husband
haha the belly button sweat never happened to me while pregnant…Ah isn’t pregnancy just lovely (read: gross) at times??
I am so jealous of the whole foods. I always see bloggers rave about their food bar but I’ve never eaten it since raleigh is our closest whole foods!
Mmm..whole foods salad bar is the best!
Stay hydrated – that’s a lot of bellybutton sweat!
Ick. I hope my next pregnancy is not in the summer. I would be so grumpy.
It’s generally great!
I was glad mine was in the summer, my feet and legs swelled up so bad they were like tree trunks, I wore flip flops all the time because I couldn’t wear anything else!
In winter you will never find a jacket to fit !
What a cute little man! Kudos to you for venturing outside! I’ve been racking up time on the treadmill, I’m ready for this heat wave to break!!
I think you would have the best baby pictures ever if this is any indication! Am very jealous of your salad! I missed my whole food salad bar trips when I lived in Toronto
Your bump is getting so big!
I need to take a walk RIGHT NOW. So much harder to motivate in the heat! Walking with water is a good idea!
Finn is so cute!
Finn is darling!
It took all I had to pass up the Whole Foods bar this weekend. Amazing spread. And I love how they prepare tofu.
Belly button sweat!! never in my three pregnancies did I experience that, crazy stuff!! you look great by the way!
Interesting fact (I’m a nurse practitioner, so forgive me)… are you craving chewing the ice? Cause that’s a sign of iron deficiency! Strange I know, but I remember you saying that you were a little low on iron, too. Funny, huh? Anyways, interesting factoid for you! It was HOT in C’ville today for sure! Stay cool!
Nope! Just the chill
Although my mom used to be a huge ice-a-holic and was in fact anemic.
That is so interesting!! Thanks!
OMG! Seriously you are AWESOME! haha!! That belly button sweat pic is priceless. Love it and so funny that today is the first time it’s ever happened!
PS- Finn is CUTE!!
Wow, never seen belly button sweat before! If you hadn’t explained, I would have thought you just got some water from your Camelback there lol! Stay cool!
Lol, that’s exactly what I thought! I guess you learn something new every day!
I’m jealous of your baby because he’s going to have so many great pics
What a cute baby!!
Whole Foods is a bus ride away for me and I am still scared of the bus after getting a bit lost once haha. Those pictures of your Whole Foods salads make me want to conquer my fear though!
And I didn’t know that belly buttons could sweat so much!!
Finn seems to be quite the model, huh?! His expressions are so animated. And that’s funny about the sweaty belly button. Never seen anything like it, haha.
He is the smiliest baby I’ve ever seen!
I think the sweat spot is pretty cute and I think you are going to be a great children’s photographer!
That Finn is the cutest baby ever (except for our sons!) HA!
I am with you on the ice requirements these last few days, Kath! I usually prefer my water cool not icy, so I know summer has definitely arrived.
I haven’t tried the Whole Foods salad bar yet, but your posts do tempt me – might just have to try it out soon!
Looks like a yummy lunch. Whole Foods needs to open a store closer to me!!
Happy Friday Kath! Can’t believe you posted your belly button sweat!
I’m a no ice girl in my beverages (usually H20) too, but come late pregnancy I’m lovin crushed ice! And your swim post keeps coming back too my mind…I can’t believe you could think of and recall all those tid-bits about your swimming! My husband watched me swim a work-out one time and said I swam all arms. Nice to know I’m not the only one!
I’m the same way–no ice, please! Until yesterday, then “only ice, please!” hahaha good summer times
