Nectarine Dreams

IMG_2624

It sure was a pleasant night’s sleep in the humidity free house : ) But I did end up waking up at midnight wired again. I didn’t eat my almonds before bed! So I took a swig of juice and ate 10 almonds and thankfully was able to go back to sleep without any more interruptions….until this juicy nectarine tapped on my forehead!

IMG_2634

Mixed up with greek yogurt, banana, blackberries, granola and chia seeds.

So fresh and so clean!

That is quite the trick with the almonds. I’m going to keep some on hand. The Mr will sometimes have bouts of not being able to turn off his brain and is up until 2am. I’m gonna see if that works for him or if it’s just a chick thing. 🙂

It doesn’t get much better than juicy peaches on a sizzling hot summer day. Well, maybe ice cold watermelon. Enjoy the heat and humidity. I know you love it 🙂

We’ve both been in nectarine moods lately! I made nectarine bread yesterday and posted about it today. I’m loving how ripe they are right now. Your bowl of breakfast looks delicious, as usual!!

I am not doing a good job of remembering all the amazing fruits there are in the summer! what is wrong with me?

that nectarine looks beautiful. although, I’m a peach girl. it’s the only outside of anything that I like. I used to request the fuzz from my dad on the beach. :p

Love the pears. Is it a placemat or a napkin and where did you get it? I think I may have to try the almond trick with my 6 1/2 year old daughter. She had almonds at Spanish club but I guess it wasn’t close enough to bed because she was up even later than usual with her little mind(and body) going a hundred miles an hour!

I’ve never put necatarines or peaches in my overnight oats or yogurt bowls – no idea why! I had some nice and cold overnight oats for breakfast today and because it was so hot, I decided to have a little homemade cake batter frozen yogurt on the side – a great start to summer!

I admire your ability to keep your AC off as long as possible. I could not do that…I grew up in SC and my first “big word” when I was little was “air conditioner”. I would have to move somewhere WAY north if I couldn’t use AC when I needed it. I wake up and can’t go back to sleep if it’s too warm.

Although a little pricey, I found that KIND (of KIND bars) has an awesome new super-crunchy granola in at least 4 flavors. It’s gluten free and has 5g of protein per serving. It does have some soy products in it (though not soy oil), but it has a really short ingredient list with no weird additives. So far I’ve tried Peanut Butter Whole Grain Clusters, which is not overpoweringly nutty and has some whole peanuts in it.

Funny, I had almost the same thing for my breakfast, except peach instead of nectarine and blueberries instead of blackberries. I had some honey drizzled on mine too. I so wish I had known about this almond trick when I was pregnant.
