You are here: Home / Weekend / Ice Please!

June 21, 2012

Ice Please!

I went for a walk this morning – early before the heat of the day set in – yet for the first time this belly button sweat has happened…guess it’s here to stay! Gross!

2012-06-21 09.32.34

I was armed with sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and icy water. I am the girl that asks for “no ice” in restaurants all day long….until this week. Ice, yes please!

2012-06-21 09.32.14

I showered up and headed in to Great Harvest for a bit (and had a piece of muffin for a snack) before heading over to Holly’s.

I went out to my friend Holly’s house to say hello. Holly sold me her baby swing since she no longer needed it – the Fisher Price Zen swing – so we are now a baby gear kinda family.

I also got to practice my baby photography! Finn was cute as ever! Hard to believe he used to be so tiny.

He is almost crawling!

Finn

On my way home, I drove right by Whole Foods. I remembered we needed milk, so I went in for that, and came out with lunch! I was too hungry to bypass the salad bar without filling up.

IMG_0020-2

In the box – mixed greens, wheatberries, kamut, cauliflower, potatoes, pasta salad, tofu, pinapple, a bite of mac n cheese and a piece of meatloaf (for the iron.. Smile )

IMG_0030

More ice on the side – in the form of 1/4 strawberry lemonade and 3/4 water. Need more please!

IMG_0018-2

I am currently in the company of an air conditioning service man – just to ensure our unit is functional before all its hard work these next few days. I think it passed the inspection! Whew. Although I hear we will need a new one anywhere from 1-5 years from now. Better start saving…

What kind of milk do you use? Cow or soy, almond, etc.?

Look into extending/buying a home warranty. I bought one for $395 and in the past 3 months they have fixed my fridge ($1000), AC ($1500), and a leak($250). Only cost $60 bucks out of my pocket for each. HUGE SAVINGS!!!

Interesting fact (I’m a nurse practitioner, so forgive me)… are you craving chewing the ice? Cause that’s a sign of iron deficiency! Strange I know, but I remember you saying that you were a little low on iron, too. Funny, huh? Anyways, interesting factoid for you! It was HOT in C’ville today for sure! Stay cool!

Happy Friday Kath! Can’t believe you posted your belly button sweat! 🙂 I’m a no ice girl in my beverages (usually H20) too, but come late pregnancy I’m lovin crushed ice! And your swim post keeps coming back too my mind…I can’t believe you could think of and recall all those tid-bits about your swimming! My husband watched me swim a work-out one time and said I swam all arms. Nice to know I’m not the only one!
