This afternoon I went over to Holly + Eddie’s to meet Baby Finn, just 16 days old!

IMG_3245Blog

He was PRECIOUS! And soooo small! I have never held a newborn baby before – he made my heart melt.

IMG_3249Blog

IMG_3251Blog

We snuggled on the couch for a while, and of course Finn obeyed the rule of spitting up on the cleanest woman in the room 😉 I didn’t mind though! Holly and I chatted for a while – and I left them with chili and a loaf of Cheddar Garlic, a Chocolata Babka muffin for dessert and granola for mom snackin’!

Back at home, I worked on my own dinner – a roasted medley of chicken, purple + sweet potatoes and kale. Sipped a kombucha for cocktail hour!

IMG_3262Blog

My chicken was attacked because I shaved off half to pack for lunch tomorrow! I will thank myself then. This was The Organic Butcher’s herby chicken breasts. Their chicken is SO tender and juicy compared to most I’ve had in my life. I baked this guy for 30 minutes at 400* to the perfect internal temp.

IMG_3256Blog

Taters! There has to be some college with the colors orange + purple. If you went there, you should make these for game day! I baked these at 400* for 35 minutes or so. Coated in olive oil, cayenne, cinnamon and salt.

IMG_3258Blog

Baked kale. We were too impatient to really crisp it up in the oven, so this was quazi-kale chip style. These were simply olive oil and salt seasoned.

IMG_3257Blog

IMG_3252Blog

I bought eggnog today to have on Christmas. I might have to go have a shot for dessert!!

I mean this in all kindness and love for animals (especially cats), but when a cat’s grooming changes or they stop all together it could mean that there is a serious health issue going on. I think you kitty might be older no? perhaps a vet visit to make sure everything is ok. A cat’s grooming is directly related to their physical health.
            Taken from http://animal.discovery.com/healthy-pets/cat-health-101/cat-not-grooming-itself.html
“A vet visit to learn why your cat has stopped grooming should be an early, not last, response to the problem. The vet will determine what’s going on in your cat’s body, or emotions, and prescribe a solution, whether it’s a dental cleaning, medication or a change in diet to address his weight, age, illness or digestive issue.”

Appreciate your comment. She’s under a vet’s care–just had a checkup and some meds, which helped, recently. (But she’s a bit of a slobberer when she grooms, always has been, and it seems to be getting a little worse,so if she jumps up in your lap, and she’s not your cat, it can be sort of distasteful.)
