Matt made oatmeal!! I still can’t figure out what he does differently than me, but I’m pretty sure it’s a little less water. His oatmeal is so flavorful and dense!
Whipped banana oatmeal topped with puffed brown rice, pumpkin chip Hungry Bar and Naturally Nutty Almond Butter!
Just some guzzled water on the side. I slept OK last night, but not great – still tired! Maybe today I will take a nap…it is on my baby to-do list!

Ahhh I miss Naturally Nutty AB so so so so so much! I’m tempted to drive down there just to stock up. The GHs up here need to get on the nutty bandwagon.
I need to pick up some puffed rice! I forgot how good it is as a topping! Adds such nice crunch!
I always love dense and thicker oatmeal! Hope you get some rest today!
I love oats in every form EXCEPT watery oatmeal…it has to be thick!
Kath, random question: could you tell what heart rate/calorie burn monitor you use (if you use one), or, which one you would recommend? I don’t want to spend a ton of money, no more than $100. And, I want one that is a wrist-watch with heart rate monitor, calorie burner, and keeps track of my weekly workouts. If you know of one, I would appreciate your help! Thanks!
I used to have a Polar F5 but haven’t worn it in years!
Thank you!
I love big bowls of oatmeal! So sweet of Matt to make it for you
I hope you get to take a nap today!
I agree – thick oatmeal is the best!! I don’t often order it when I’m out because restaurants make it all soupy..
Hehe while you take your nap, get a few zzz’s for me. Definitely feeling the need for some today after a pretty active weekend! Happy Monday Kath!
The fact that he makes you breakfast, of any kind, so sweet!
I seriously took a nap EVERY single day of my pregnancy– I don’t know how you do it!! And now Lila is a really great napper, which I attribute to my own napping skills
I guzzle water in the morning too- like 60 oz guzzle (within an hour though)….Since week 35 came along, I feel the need to nap and have actually given in about three or four times- it should be on the baby to do list
I love that bowl! Where did you find it?
Kohls!
Take that nap! You deserve it!
Ah, the toppings! I can’t get enough puffed cereal – love the texture change up.
I need a nap on my to do list!
It is great when a husband can cook & bake well

This is one reason why I can’t wait until fall
I love hot oats lol lately after my runs all I’ve been wanting are smoothies lol
Aww, what a good hubby to make that for you! A nap should be on everyone’s to do list!
Looks great!!
The bowl totally looked like a soup bowl to me in the first picture. Then you revealed the lovely breakfast on the inside. Yum!
I would never think to top oatmeal with cereal.. A good change up in texture!
Try to get a nap in today!
I definitely think oatmeal tastes different depending on who makes it, I put up my own oatmeal recipes on my blog but I’m sure it comes out different when people try the recipe! Haha still good I hope!
It’s always better when someone else makes it! Enjoy those naps now!
Hey Kath,
I tried making oatmeal in my rice cooker and it was great! The oats were extremely fluffy! I used 1 cup water 1/4 cup almond milk and 1/2 cup rolled oats with salt, few raisins and lots of cinnamon! I left out the chia seeds because I think that’s what was making gummy? But I guess you could sprinkle them on top. Hope you are able to try them again
Good idea! I’ll have to do this again soon
I also tried Barley flakes in the rice cooker and it was wonderful! Similar to oats but a bit sweeter and nuttier.
Hope you’re having a great day
That Naturally Nutty spoonful looks like the absolute perfect addition.
MMMmm that oatmeal looks delicious! It’s always good when someone else is making it for you! Get some rest today!
Well, all I can say is that it looks good!! I always try to use less water, makes my oats so much better!
Josh makes a few things MUCH better than me and I have no idea what he does either. Sometimes I think it just tastes better because someone else made it vs. me
Our oatmeal at home, when we look at it served up in a bowl, just does NOT look as delicious as yours ALWAYS does. Loving the multiple layers and textures, too!
Take as many naps as you possibly can
Napping days are seriously numbered, as I’m sure you hear all the time!
That oatmeal looks yummy. I tried looking up Hungry Bar and I would love to try it. Where can you find it?
