Man Made

Foodblog-2893

Matt made oatmeal!! I still can’t figure out what he does differently than me, but I’m pretty sure it’s a little less water. His oatmeal is so flavorful and dense!

Foodblog-2891

Whipped banana oatmeal topped with puffed brown rice, pumpkin chip Hungry Bar and Naturally Nutty Almond Butter!

Foodblog-2890

Just some guzzled water on the side. I slept OK last night, but not great – still tired! Maybe today I will take a nap…it is on my baby to-do list!

Ahhh I miss Naturally Nutty AB so so so so so much! I’m tempted to drive down there just to stock up. The GHs up here need to get on the nutty bandwagon.

Kath, random question: could you tell what heart rate/calorie burn monitor you use (if you use one), or, which one you would recommend? I don’t want to spend a ton of money, no more than $100. And, I want one that is a wrist-watch with heart rate monitor, calorie burner, and keeps track of my weekly workouts. If you know of one, I would appreciate your help! Thanks!

I agree – thick oatmeal is the best!! I don’t often order it when I’m out because restaurants make it all soupy..

I seriously took a nap EVERY single day of my pregnancy– I don’t know how you do it!! And now Lila is a really great napper, which I attribute to my own napping skills 🙂

I guzzle water in the morning too- like 60 oz guzzle (within an hour though)….Since week 35 came along, I feel the need to nap and have actually given in about three or four times- it should be on the baby to do list 🙂

I definitely think oatmeal tastes different depending on who makes it, I put up my own oatmeal recipes on my blog but I’m sure it comes out different when people try the recipe! Haha still good I hope!

    Hey Kath,

I tried making oatmeal in my rice cooker and it was great! The oats were extremely fluffy! I used 1 cup water 1/4 cup almond milk and 1/2 cup rolled oats with salt, few raisins and lots of cinnamon! I left out the chia seeds because I think that’s what was making gummy? But I guess you could sprinkle them on top. Hope you are able to try them again 🙂

🙂 I forgot to add, when you open the rice cooker it will look like there is too much water and its settled on top but just give it a good stir and it becomes the perfect consistency.

I also tried Barley flakes in the rice cooker and it was wonderful! Similar to oats but a bit sweeter and nuttier.

        Hope you’re having a great day 🙂
