A Drop Of Golden Sun

October 29, 2010

^^ There are lots of those out today!!! Anyone else still humming SOM after yesterday’s Oprah!? The temps dropped significantly overnight and I think today is actually the quintessential fall day.

I lost my morning in yoga. It was a great class – but it was long and left me a bit drained! Normally I find exercise energizing, but I think I almost fell asleep during our 8-minute savasana! Good thing this lunch left me energized, because I have a lot of work to get done this afternoon.

I made a big salad out of garden greens and basil, dressed in a drizzle of olive oil and honey, topped with leftover chicken and POM ARILS! It’s been way too long since there was a POM in this house!

And on the side, a cup of leftover sweet potato soup with roasted veggies mixed in and a few almonds on top.

What’s your favorite note? Mine is LA, a note to follow So!!

You….cannnn…singgg most annnn-yyyy-thing!!! Note

We had the windows open b/c of how warm it was the past few days and I forgot to close them last night. Whew! I was FREEZING when I got up this morning!

10 Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) October 29, 2010 at 1:04 pm

11 Holly @ couchpotatoathlete October 29, 2010 at 1:05 pm

I didn’t watch Oprah and I had no idea what SOM meant until I got to the comments :)

“Ti : a drink with Jan and Fred!” <— that is what my dad used to say the real words were!

12 kate October 29, 2010 at 1:10 pm

I cant wait to get my hands on my first POM of the season soon!

13 Katie October 29, 2010 at 1:14 pm

Got to love the POM!!! Was just wondering if any of you out there have been plauged by the “Dog that wants to adopt you dilema” while you have been running? This happened to me today, and has happened before: You make eye contact with a freely roaming dog…it starts to follow you…you make the mistake of petting it….you try for about 45 mins. to get it to stay, go home, or find something that might distract it, etc. Today a little balck chiuaua was following me. I could not get the dog to stay or go home, so I tried to distract it with a terrible way….a roadkill rabbit (yuck!). This little dog started to drag the rabbit down the road with us?! Luckily my vet is not far from where we were, they knew the dog, and I went on my way…..so much for a peaceful, drama-free day off work, ha!

14 Camille October 29, 2010 at 1:20 pm

Haha, that song has been stuck in my head for the past hour for no good reason :)

15 Gwen October 29, 2010 at 1:27 pm

T – a drink with jam and bread!!!

That episode was delightful! I actually teared up a bit!

16 Meaghen October 29, 2010 at 1:29 pm

Ti a drink with jam and bread. Because jam and bread are sooooo good together. Now I think that song will be stuck in my head too all day! My nieces love that movie!

17 Tricia @ Saving Room for Dessert October 29, 2010 at 1:32 pm

“DO” – DO a deer, a female deer, ray a drop of golden sun! I’m going to show my age and tell you that Sound of Music was the very first movie I ever saw in my whole life. My parents took me when I was a little girl and remember being afraid during the scene in the graveyard. Not because of the graveyard but because of the suspense! Great movie, great music, great ending :)

18 Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine October 29, 2010 at 1:32 pm

I like Ti….a drink with jam and bread :) That sweet potato soup looks so thick and comforting!!

19 Christie {Honoring Health} October 29, 2010 at 1:35 pm

Do, a deer, a female deer…

I love that song. I remember singing it in 8th grade chorus!

20 krissy October 29, 2010 at 1:41 pm

I LOVED that Oprah. I went to delete it off the DVR this morning and couldn’t do it yet. I want to watch it again…with tea and a scone.

21 Estela @ Weekly Bite October 29, 2010 at 1:57 pm

22 Balanced Healthy Life October 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm

I love Poms and it sounded like you had a great yoga class this morning! I don’t know if I could lay in savasana for 8 minutes, I usually get antsy if its longer than 5 minutes!

23 Joanne October 29, 2010 at 2:02 pm

Have you ever tried Forrest yoga? If not, I have a super 5 day intensive course that I’m giving away on my site. Make sure to check it out. It’s not easy but def. rewarding.

24 Kath October 29, 2010 at 4:02 pm

I don’t think I have yet!

25 Claire (Low Impact Fashionista) October 29, 2010 at 2:18 pm

26 Megan October 29, 2010 at 2:18 pm

How do you eat a Pom? Do you have to cook the seeds first?

27 Kath October 29, 2010 at 4:03 pm

Here’s a video I did a looooong time ago :)

I like Ray! A drop of golden sun!

32 Michelle @ Turning Over a New Leaf October 29, 2010 at 2:48 pm

I don’t have any particular favorite solfege note in the major scale, but I go weak at the knees when I hear minor chords. Therefore, I love just about everything on the minor scale.

I’m sorry, my nerd is showing.

(Currently a university choir member and wife of a music major)
