I’m having a wonderful sleepy, rainy Sunday with Sabrina!!
After checking out of my hotel, I wasn’t really sure what to do with myself and my giant suitcase. But luckily Sabrina was nice enough to let us chill out at her place. It’s nice to relax a little after such a whirlwind of a weekend.
We spent an hour chatting on her couch before we walked to lunch at this fabulous little sandwich cafe called Rybread!
It was the PERFECT lunch spot! Salads, sandwiches, good drinks + desserts and funky colors.
I had a house salad with blue cheese, walnuts, cranberries and apples
And I got the most delicious portabella and eggplant panini with pesto and mozzarella
Incredibleness!
Sabrina’s grilled cheese!
Minty tea to sip
And when we returned home, a cup of fruit for dessert
My flight tonight doesn’t leave until 9:30, so I’ve got more chilling to do before I head back to Virginia.
See ya friends!

I have a ton of eggplant in my garden right now! This should be something on the menu this week! Mmmm!
Glad you had fun and have some time to chill before your flight. Save travels!
Wow, you’ve definitely got some time to hang out before your flight! Save travels back here to VA!
That restaurant looks so cute! Nice that they have fruit for dessert! I wish more restaurants offered that
It’s amazing what adding heat and pressing a sandwich will do for flavors! That panini looks great!!
Yum! have a safe trip home
Drool!!! That panini looks amazing. Your lunch combo is probably what I would have ordered; busy salad and gooey sandwich. Yum, yum.
That Salad looks amazing! (minus the walnuts) Glad you are able to relax before your trip home! Safe Travels!
Sabrina is absolutely GLOWING. She looked amazing at HLS, I can’t wait to see the baby! Slash you are gorgggg g-frand!! I am so glad that I’m eating cheese and all now so I can actually eat the delish food you post every day. Seriously what planet was I on.
Thank you so much Katelyn! I can’t wait to see the baby either ha! I hope he has blue eyes like my husband and my mom.
I’m making a salad just like that for dinner tonight! That sandwich looks delicious!
That sandwich looks amazing! I love mushrooms too : )
Whoops sorry I thought those were mushrooms on your sandwich.
It is isn’t it? Portobellas…that’s mushrooms
A night flight? Wow – that makes for a long day!
*Portobello*, actually!
I think it’s cute how many people refer to them as “portobellas”
! Oh my gosh – I think I actually have always thought it was “bellas” –
– a feminine twist? Thanks for sparing me from future embarrassment
I thought it was either? I say portobellO but spell check always makes me change it to A!
I like the feminine twist, personally
Eggplant & portabella sounds great! It’s so nice of Sabrina to let you hang out for a bit too
The place looks great! Sabrina looks like she may pop!
…and she feels like it too!
what a lovely end to a great weekend!
Hey Kath, hope you have a safe trip back to VA, your bakery, and your man! It was nice to talk to you a bit about being an RD
) And I looooved having my first taste of GH bread. YUM! Now I can understand your love. If only they were around in PA.
That sandwich is all of my favorite things rolled together (or pressed together, as it may be!)
i’ve always wanted to try out rybread. looks fantastic. i am actually going out to lunch with my friend tomorrow so we may hit rybread up! that panini is definitely what i would order…looks delish!!!
I’ve got to try a mushroom burger/panini whatever. I see them everywhere but haven’t had one yet!!
Do you derive inspiration for the sandwiches you offer at Great Harvest from your taste experiences at other places? Slash how do you decide what goes on your menu? I’ve noticed that the sandwiches you talk about serving are different than the ones offered at MY local Great Harvest (I’ve been eying that curry tuna sandwich foreva).
We just put sandwiches we like on our menu! And do think about our market, diets, and more.
If people requested a certain sandwich, would you consider adding those to your menu – even if wasn’t something you guys particularly liked?
paninis look awesome! You both look fabulous!
Ah, Sabrina is glowing
Nice to see so many bloggers together, I hope I can go to HLS next year!!!
Thank you Katherina!
You’ve been making me sandwich envy all weekend… grrr gluten free bread just isn’t the same
But it looks like a cute place! Have a safe trip back!
Have you tried Udi’s millet-chia bread? It has about 5g fiber & 5g protein for two slices and has seeds and some chew to it. My favorite GF bread by far. . . my whole foods just started carrying it last month.
Thanks for the recommendation, I have only had the white Udi’s, never the millet-chia kind but it sounds really great. I’ve grown to live without bread for the most part because of taste/price but will definitely be keeping my eye out for this.
An eggplant panini is seriously the combination of two of my most favorite foods.
I love your sunglasses, so chic!!
Have a safe trip home girlie.
Hmm..eggplant is my fave. That sandwich is making me hungry. Cafes are some of my favorite spots to hit up in a new city. They are always so quaint and cozy and you get a real feel for the place.
I am drooling! Those sammies look wonderful and so do you ladies
BEAUTIES
For some reason, the look of grilled mushrooms also icks me out, but I know they’re super tasty!
Delicious looking lunch! Have a safe trip home
Cranberries and Blue cheese are a great salad combination.*
portabella and eggplant panini with pesto and mozzarella = wow that looks great
and those pillows are so YOU. Those are “Kath colors” if I’ve ever seen some
And Sabrina is adorable and what a trooper she is!
Enjoy your last hours in Philly!
Thanks Averie! Any tips on making it through the last month of pregnancy happily?
Just knowing you will soon be HOLDING that sweet baby in your arms any day is what I focused on. You’re so close!
yum! i’ll look out for that place next time i’m in philly.
Awesome HLS recap posts, Kath!
I have a question! Did Meghann really plan the WHOLE thing or did you all help too? It seems like she took a lot of the credit, but I wasn’t sure if it was a joint process?
Also, this might be too personal, but is there commission for you all for having the event? I’ve always been curious about that!
Looks like a fun time!
Meghann planned it all and is the only one getting compensated for her time. The rest of us got free tickets and travel as tribute to our foundership. We decided it was easier for one person to plan it, and most of us were too busy to want to take on planning another year.
what a bummer of a flight! i hope you enjoyed your time at hls. safe travels home.
looks like quite a yummy lunch! might have to stop by there when I am in town next week. And I will def be stopping by Great Harvest in Wayne – I always used to stop in there for free bread samples when I went to school right down the street!
I love panini. That “Savannah” looks particularly delicious. I may have to attempt one myself.
You seem to find such unique little places to eat. Those sandwiches look delicious! Hope you have a safe flight home.
That sandwich sounds AMAZING! Have fun hanging out and hope you have a safe trip!
Small world. I have been following your blog for a long time, and tonight I see my family’s restaurant on your site. Thanks for the positive reviews! I wish I was there today. Glad you enjoyed!
No way!!! Very cool
Meghann I was bummed you were not there and neither was Ryan!
Oh my gosh both the panini and the salad look absolutely incredible. A good panini is the one thing that I have a hard time finding around here…I really should just start making my own!
So glad you’re getting some time in with Sabrina – enjoy yourself!
that’s nice to have such a good friend to hang out with! I love lazy days when you have nothing to worry about! I hope your flight goes smoothly!
Sounds like a fun trip. Sabrina, you are beautiful! Congratulations!
Thank you so much! We are so excited.
that panini look sooooo yum!
Those sandwiches look mmm mmm good! Love how ‘meaty’ portabello ‘shrooms are!
That sandwich and salad look INCREDIBLE. Pesto is seriously yummy with just about everything
Portobellos are one of my favorite veggies and I love them on sandwiches. That looks fantastic. Grill marks always get me. Yum!
