Matt and I never talk on the phone when I travel – we’re both too busy – but last night we talked for about 45 minutes before I went to sleep. Lots of news to share! I asked him what he had for dinner. His reply: “A salad from the garden with tofu, tomatoes and garlic gold. And beer.” Hilarious.
I slept so well last night – until 7:40! I had just 20 minutes to get ready for the Together Counts 5K walk this morning, but I made it just in time. Since I didn’t know if we’d be running at all, I left my technology at home. I’m sure you can find photos of our giant blogger mob in front of the L.O.V.E. sign around the blog world this morning 😉
The 5K was great. I got to know one of the few men here – Jon – who is a DAVIDSON grad! We squealed at each other to find a fellow Wildcat and talked Davidson for 3.2 miles.
Breakfast was a Quaker oats extravaganza
I filled my bowl with oats and toppings of ground flax, pecans, almond butter, chocolate chips and Quaker Oatmeal Squares. Plus fruit!
Protein on the side: Oikos Peach Mango! New flavor. Fruit on the bottom. Loved it!
Back in the ballroom, I added a coffee.
“She’s just not that into you”
The best part of HLS is obviously the people. All the communication and online friendship is great, but it’s being together in person that counts most <3
