From Gram To Graham

Favorite flavors of all-time:

Butterscotch

Marshmallow

Toffee

Vanilla bean

Pumpkin

Dark chocolate

Coconut

Graham

Sounds like a need a scoop of S’mores ice cream!

After seeing Mamapea put crushed graham crackers on her pumpkin pie smoothie, I had to repeat it. After breaking into a package of organic cinnamon grahams (New Morning brand I picked up as HLS swag) last night, I decided to crumble them into breakfast.

Pumpkin Graham Smoothie

  • 1/4 cup raw rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin
  • Pinch salt
  • 5 ice cubes
  • Pinch each of cinnamon, all spice, ground cloves

Toppings: Graham + Biscoff

Coconut tea!

I’ve already spent half the morning cleaning a baseboard area that was filled with crud. The Scour Off cherries took it right up, but like painting trim, once you start you can’t stop.

Must stop because I must focus today!

I’ve been buying this pumpkin ice cream from Edy’s and topping it with cool whip and graham crackers… it is seriously just like pumpkin pie! Love it!

I’ll have to try this smoothie.

I love using graham crackers in my smoothies. I make a banana, peanut butter and graham cracker smoothie (w/spinach, of course) all of the time!

It’s been ages since I’ve had graham crackers. I have been unable to find a healthy brand, that meets my criteria (whole wheat, no refined sugar, etc)… I guess I just need to make some myself! It’s what I do. ;)

That smoothie looks delish. I’m enjoying a bowl of Coach’s Oats myself.

I always forget about graham crackers for some reason… I have no idea why because I DO love them! Great idea, I’ll have to do this!! I’m sure it’ll make the smoothie taste even more like pumpkin pie! :)

Oh man I can only imagine how good the biscoff + graham flavors were together…let alone on top of pumpkin! I literally drooled on myself when Mama Pea posted that the other day…aaaand now again with yours :)

I love graham cracker flavor too! I’m from upstate NY originally, and if you ever find yourself up that way, you MUST find a Stewart’s ice cream shop and try their flavor, “Crumbs Along the Mohawk.” It’s a graham cracker and caramel ice cream that is my all-time favorite! My mom always has some in the freezer for me as a treat when I travel home now. :)

I tried to make a pumpkin smoothie today (loosely following your recipe,) and it tasted much more like liquid squash and less like a fall dessert. Perhaps I didn’t use enough spices??? I didn’t want to throw it out, but also couldn’t stomach it :(

30 KathEats October 6, 2011 at 9:39 am

They aren’t really sweet – which often surprises me since I’m used to pumpkin being sweet. Add a little maple syrup!

31 Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning October 6, 2011 at 9:31 am

I would definitely mirror your favorite flavor list, but also add caramel for myself. :)
Have you ever made graham crackers? I made them last year to give to co-workers for holiday gifts (along with rosemary crackers). They were a huge hit!
Easy to make, too! I used this recipe: http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/recipe.php?recipeId=2629

I bought Biscoff spread for the first time this past weekend and oh, my goodness!! I am not a fan of nut butters at all–horror, I know! But the Biscoff spread is so delicious–especially spread on a graham cracker or with an apple. In love with it.

When I did the 3-Day for a cure this summer, one of the snacks they had at the fueling stations fo PB & J on graham crackers. Now.. this was processed so it wasn’t a huge fan .. but I have since started replicating with my own ingredients and the combination of flavors is to die for!!

Trader Joe’s have new graham cracker line too. I started seeing them recently.

I like using graham crackers in baking as base/crust. I love it when I made vegan magic coconut bars.

I am SUCH a huge fan of using graham cracker crumbs as a topping. Whenever I get frozen yogurt or go somewhere like Cold Stone for ice cream, I always always get graham cracker crumbs mixed in. I’ve even mixed them into Greek yogurt as a dessert at home. Mmm mmm good.
