Easter Kitty

April 8, 2012

It was wonderful to get in bed at 9:30 last night.

But the only drawback to going to bed early is finding yourself awake at 6:30 this morning! But after 9 hours of sleep, I did not need a wink more.

Plus who can resist getting up fro breakfast!

As I went outside to photograph, the Easter Kitty came by to bring us some eggs and chocolates!

She said she was helping out the Bunny this morning.

While I enjoyed a bowl of yogurt with crumbled Great Harvest Blueberry Buttermilk Muffin (MMMM!), banana, chia seeds and Sunbutter…

Plus an awesome cup of French press made by Matt…

The Easter Kitty wanted entry to our home.

Very badly! Sadly, holidays do not make allergies go away, so Matt said she had to stay outside : (

So in exchange, we gave her some Special Milk just like Lillian gets

She thanked us and hopped away!

That definitely looks like a breakfast worth waking up for! :)

I love how vibrant the blueberries in that muffin look.

Happy Easter Kath! I hope it’s a great one :)

5 Jen April 8, 2012 at 9:39 am

Happy Easter! About the cat though…does someone own her? If not, shouldn’t you bring her to an animal shelter so she can find a real home? :(

6 KathEats April 8, 2012 at 9:45 am

She lives next door… She just comes to visit

that muffin looks incredible! maybe some baking is in my future today :)

Happy Easter… Hopefully, your son won’t share Matt’s allergies. I have heard that regular exposure to pets from an early age and as a child grows up and then into adulthood minimizes allergies in life. Don’t know if it is scientifically proven, or just that families have pets because their children are not allergic.

That breakfast looks so good! I can’t remember the last time I had a good blueberry muffin! Did you ever ask the people you bought your house from if the cat hung around when they lived there? Haha I wonder if he comes with the house! So cute.

Happy Easter to Kath and Matt (and the Easter Kitty)! Hope you both get to enjoy some down time today after the Easter rush at the bakery!

12 Paulina (One Smile Ahead) April 8, 2012 at 10:25 am

The Easter Kitty is adorable! Oh and I had a yogurt/muffin bowl for breakfast this morning too! I thought I’d seen something similar on here a while ago, so I thought of you when I was putting it together. I like that we think alike! :)

13 Lydia April 8, 2012 at 10:25 am

Getting up at 6:30 am is standard with young children on Easter (or Christmas or birthdays), so it was good prep! Worth it, though…fun times! :)

14 Lynda April 10, 2012 at 8:46 am

I only wish I could fall asleep at 9:30 and wake up at 6:30!! That would be heaven to me. I have chronic sleep issues….so frustrating, so I envy those who can sleep well. Consider yourself lucky:)

Happy Easter Kath! I hope you two get some time to relax together today! Enjoy your Sunday!

Happy Easter to you all…and next year at this time you’ll be finishing your duties as Easter bunny to your little man. How fun will that be! :)

Happy Easter! I am convinced my breakfast’s will never look as pretty as yours ha ha. But I can keep trying right? Hope you have a relaxing Easter!

Happy Easter to you and your Family!! I Love the posts with this cute cat…its better than an Easter Bunny :)

21 Kelly @ Foodie Fiasco April 8, 2012 at 11:20 am

Happy Easter, Kath, to you, your lovely family, and the Easter Kitty! 😉

22 larabar April 8, 2012 at 11:26 am

I’m guessing that the kitty comes to visit b/c you give her milk. Although they love it, it is really not that good for their tummies.

23 Caro April 8, 2012 at 11:57 am

I was just about to coment on that. Older cats can’t break down the lactose in cow’s milk.

24 Carolyn April 8, 2012 at 1:37 pm

Maybe there is more to the story.. i was thinking the same as you guys.. but.. Kath do you mean something is different about the “Special Milk”, or are you giving her cows milk? If you are giving her cows milk please make sure and ask your neighbors.

25 Mom April 8, 2012 at 3:54 pm

Nope. she means milk, We give Lillian a tiny bit although I know it’s not recommended. Just a tad…

26 Becky April 10, 2012 at 5:11 am

Our kitties also used to get very sick when they had milk- even a small amount- so we stopped giving it to them. It’s sad because they love it, but it makes them very sick. Best to give the kitty love in the form of pets and belly rubs, rather than milk!

27 Angela @ Happy Fit Mama April 8, 2012 at 12:11 pm

Happy Easter! I hope you can take today off and relax after your busy day yesterday. Whatever you do, enjoy!

BTW, love the pop of green against the purple!

28 Amy April 8, 2012 at 12:19 pm

Since Easter Kitty has a home, I might skip on the milk. The owners litter box might be a mess as a result…. catching what I’m throwing? :)

29 Allison k April 8, 2012 at 4:36 pm

Oh maaaan this is so true. In college my roommate found a kitten outside our apartment. She brought it in and gave it some milk. We put it in the bathroom while we went to knock on doors to see if someone lost a kitten. When we returned? TOTAL Poo-splosion. Poor little thing. Our bad…learned the hard way.

30 Becca April 8, 2012 at 12:56 pm

Happy Easter :) I think it is so cute that the kitty loves to come over and visit so often! Very sweet.

31 Jasper {crunchylittlebites} April 8, 2012 at 1:08 pm

34 robin April 8, 2012 at 3:30 pm

How is Lillian these days?

35 Mom April 8, 2012 at 5:23 pm

She is good, and she says thanks for asking. Good appetite and still very affectionate.

36 Dudette April 8, 2012 at 3:43 pm

Such a pretty Easter Kitty! Love it!!! Your breakfast looks delicious too!

37 Angel7 April 8, 2012 at 4:53 pm

I believe that I am allergic to cats, too! My parents started taking care of a neighborhood cat quite some time ago, and everytime we go to their house to visit, I have a severe headache maybe a day or two after we get there. Even though they do not let the cat in the house, the dander still wreaks havoc on me. I did not even realize that I am allergic to cats until I my parents started taking care of the cat, because my parents have always had dogs, and my husband and I do not have any pets.

Happy Easter!
