Mornin’!
I’ve had a delicious day so far!
Great Harvest Morning Glory Muffin
+
Trader Joe’s PB restocked! And Polly‘s PB stirrer! (I don’t know where she got it, but it’s awesome for new jars)
Mara‘s Peruvian coffee!
+ Gossip Girl Season 1 Finale
= utter bliss!!
Oatmeal contained:
- 1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup vanilla soy milk, 1/3 cup water
- Pinch salt, splash vanilla, 1/2 banana
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- Morning Glory muffin
- TJ’s Salty Peanuts
- TJ’s crunchy PB
Sadly I could only eat about 75% of this. I just got too full. I could have easily stuffed down the rest, but I made a point not to out of intuitive eating practice.
French press froth. I read the other day that the grounds produce little bubbles that creates the froth:
=
That’s the magic of French press.
Coffee makes me full, which is one reason why I love it.
Today’s agenda is wide open. I do have some work to do, but it can wait, so there’s no urgency. I was thinking about going to a hot yoga class at a new studio, but for the sake of saving ~40 minutes of commuting time, I’m reconsidering to a podcast in my living room. I NEED yoga today after 2 days of hard exercise and some tense shoulders.
See y’all for lunch!

I have the same PB stirrer and I love it! I got it here: http://witmerproducts.com/pbutter.html
You always rave so much about your French press…. I recently switched from instant (awful, I know, I’m sure you are cringing!) to making it in a coffee maker but I’m wondering what the difference is between that, and the french press?
You make it sound SO wonderful than I’m wondering if I should give it a shot
I STILL have to try crumbling a muffin on my oatmeal. I’ve got to get on that!! Coffee fills me up too, except I can’t drink it with a hot bowl of oats or else I break into a sweat
So it’s always my “breakfast dessert”
Enjoy your Sunday!
I love how thick that oatmeal is! Looks so good! Have a great Sunday and enjoy your yoga.
I miss my Great Harvest! There is not one decent bread store near me!
Glad you can have a relaxed day today!
I need to get a french press!
I need one of those PB stirrers!
love your oats! the morning glory muffin in it sounds so good, love morning glory muffins, my favorite! and that pb stirrer wow i need to find one, such a handy and cool little gadget!
I’ve been telling my parents we need a pb stirrer and they’ve been looking at me like i’m crazy wondering what a pb stirrer is
Yum, that does look like a delicious morning!
I haven’t eaten yet — but I did do my hour of yoga, so I’m off to find something to eat…
*smiles*
Michele
I need one of those stirrers! I keep having to delve through the oily top and I always end up with some running nut butter on my plate.
I used a French press when I was working in London and I loved it…I may have to invest in one for the sake of frothiness and the environment!
Your oatmeal looks amazing! Enjoy your yoga.
I am considering getting a french press, it always looks so good when you make it!
SO glad you liked the coffee! I love French press coffee… but i’m far too lazy to actually use mine!
Yum, that bowl of oats looks so delish!
I love coffee but, sadly had to give it up b/c of the acid. I thankfully, have found a great replacement (an herbal coffee alternative), but I miss the caffeine boost!
Thanks for the congrats Kath!
Your breakfast looks delicious. What a wonderful and relaxing way to begin the morning. I also did yoga at home last night, and it was really refreshing.
Hope you enjoy the day!
mmm french press coffee!!!! delish. as i’m typing i’m drinkin my cup too!!!
mmm some saltiness in oats sounds good!
I believe Caffeine is a appetite suppressant which is why it in combination with a good breakfast can make and keep you full. Coffee is so good for so many reasons!
The muffin looks delicious.
That looks really good. Please clone yourself and send her over to make my meals for me!
Your coffee looks amazing! I don’t understand how that french press thingy works. I’ve never seen it before, only in the blog world
Delicious looking oatmeal!! That muffin looks so moist and yummy!
Oh my gosh that bowl of oats looks too good! I definitely would’ve had trouble adhering to intuitive eating with that baby in front of me!
Guess what I just got at the grocery store – Leinenkugals! They were on sale. It’s the Oktoberfest brew…any good? I’ve never had it…
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Yoga’s on the agenda for me today too
Your oats look so good!
I love french press coffee – I had a coffee maker in college, but rarely used it. When i got the French Press? Started drinking one cuppa tasty coffee every morning.

What a tasty brek! Yoga sounds like a great idea today after a few days of running for myself as well.
I had a muffin and oatmeal this morning for breakfast too!

Yummy breakfast creation once again !
I need a new French press! Mine exploded
Yummy looking muffin. I had a wintry oatmeal brekkie this morning, it was chilly!

Bravo for your breakfast…yum!
the muffin is GORGEOUS. its top looks perfect for the picking. top of the muffin to you, kath!
Talk about heaven in a bowl
Lady of leisure it sounds like this morning. You deserve it.
I’m trying yoga for the first time today, yikes! I hope it goes well… haha
Why do you always put a pinch of sal in your oats? I notice other bloggers sometimes do it too. It it for taste, or cooking purposes?
I love the full feeling coffee gives you! I’m on green tea these days and it’s just NOT the same. Gimme my COFFEE back
i need one of those pb stirrers – this one jar I have is ridiculous to get the oil stirred in!
Wow! Breakfast definitely looks delicious – a wonderful Sunday!
Hey Kath! Quick question – maybe you’ve mentioned this before, but if so, I missed it – where did you get your french press? I am hoping to buy one soon and you seem pretty happy with yours. Thanks!!
Hi – long time reader, first time commenter… so exciting!!! Actually I would always stare at your food saying it looks great, but I could never eat that, but now that I am into a much more clean and healthy living – especially when it comes to my food – I want to explore!! Can you do this oatmeal without the soy milk?
French Press coffee really is the only way to go. It is the easiest/most yummy way to brew a fresh cup of joe! I have the small size for one person since my hubby does not drink coffee–it is the perfect size.
I love your posts of farmer market/grocery finds.
I have been thinkin’ about joining Costco to score some good deals on the bulk food too. Now that my parents live to far away to mooch off their membership! A big commitment
Keep up the good blog work!
I really, really want that nut butter stirrer! If you figure out where it came from, please post it!
Enjoy yoga! I make sure to get in a little every day.. makes my body so much happier
I was just telling someone about that PB stirrer yesterday!
that coffee looks delicious!
MarathonVal,
I mean, I love French press, but if you have a drip maker that you love, there’s not really a reason to totally convert. When our carafe broke for the second time, I converted and probably won’t buy another maker. It is more hands on, but I do think the flavor is awesome.
Marina,
The grounds steep like tea and then you press them out just like removing a tea bag when the tea is dark enough.
Cait (Cait’s Plate),
Never had the OKT but I bet it’s good!!
Julie,
It’s for flavor. Subtle salt makes sweet taste more savory and full.
Jen C.,
I got it from Karen, who didn’t want it. But you can get them all over the place. Starbucks, Target, BB&B. Mine is Bodum, which seems to be the biggest company that makes them. The only real important factor is how many cups it makes. Ours makes 3, which is really 1 cup or 1.5 or 1 big mug, so we want an 8 cup one which would be idea for weekends when we’re both home.
Deanna,
Welcome!! Yes, you can make it with any kind of milk you please. I think oatmeal is better with half milk, half water, but you can certainly make it with all water.
Lainie,
I said in the post I don’t know where she got it, but someone posted a link above.
Kath
“Coffee makes me full, which is one reason why I love it.”
Most definitely! It always helps to fill up that extra little void I have some mornings when I still want to dig around for more food even though I’ve had a plenty adequate breakfast.
Mmmmm coffee.
Kath,
I’ve started intuitive eating. Would you share how long you’ve been eating this way and how you started?
Thank you!
May Ann
May Ann,
I read the book this spring and have just been working at listening to my hunger and fullness cues more than ever. I’m not sure I follow the concept 100%, but I’m always working on it.

Kath
yummy breakky!
Hi Kath! Love your website. Can I ask how you prepare your oatmeal? Yours always look so creamy and I can never get mine to look like yours. Do you mix everything in a pot and cook it on the stove? Or heat the water and milk seperately? Would love some advice! Thanks!
Chrissie C,
Check out the Tribute to Oatmeal at the top of the page!!

Hi Kath! I was wondering where you buy your chia seeds. I’ve been looking at my local grocery stores, including Whole Foods, and I’m having a heck of a time tracking them down. They look so yummy in your breakfast concoctions! Thanks for all the wonderful reading.
i haven’t bought a coffee press yet but i really need one. it just seems fresh and quick! especially the peruvian coffee. one of my faves!
Maria ,
Mine were a gift from Navitas Naturals, but I found one place in Charlotte that sells them. A small natural store. You can also get them online, like at Navitas!
