Delicious Start

Mornin’!

I’ve had a delicious day so far!

IMG_1553 (640x480)

Great Harvest Morning Glory Muffin

IMG_1546 (640x480)

+

Trader Joe’s PB restocked! And Polly’s PB stirrer! (I don’t know where she got it, but it’s awesome for new jars)

IMG_1542 (480x640)

Mara‘s Peruvian coffee!

IMG_1541 (640x480)

+ Gossip Girl Season 1 Finale

= utter bliss!!

Oatmeal contained:

  • 1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup vanilla soy milk, 1/3 cup water
  • Pinch salt, splash vanilla, 1/2 banana
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • Morning Glory muffin
  • TJ’s Salty Peanuts
  • TJ’s crunchy PB

IMG_1549 (640x480)

Sadly I could only eat about 75% of this. I just got too full. I could have easily stuffed down the rest, but I made a point not to out of intuitive eating practice.

French press froth. I read the other day that the grounds produce little bubbles that creates the froth:

IMG_1543 (640x480)

=

IMG_1548 (640x480)

That’s the magic of French press.

Coffee makes me full, which is one reason why I love it.

IMG_1547 (640x480)

Today’s agenda is wide open. I do have some work to do, but it can wait, so there’s no urgency. I was thinking about going to a hot yoga class at a new studio, but for the sake of saving ~40 minutes of commuting time, I’m reconsidering to a podcast in my living room. I NEED yoga today after 2 days of hard exercise and some tense shoulders.

See y’all for lunch!

You always rave so much about your French press…. I recently switched from instant (awful, I know, I’m sure you are cringing!) to making it in a coffee maker but I’m wondering what the difference is between that, and the french press?

You make it sound SO wonderful than I’m wondering if I should give it a shot 🙂

I STILL have to try crumbling a muffin on my oatmeal. I’ve got to get on that!! Coffee fills me up too, except I can’t drink it with a hot bowl of oats or else I break into a sweat 😛 So it’s always my “breakfast dessert” 😉 Enjoy your Sunday!

I need one of those stirrers! I keep having to delve through the oily top and I always end up with some running nut butter on my plate.

I used a French press when I was working in London and I loved it…I may have to invest in one for the sake of frothiness and the environment!

French Press coffee really is the only way to go. It is the easiest/most yummy way to brew a fresh cup of joe! I have the small size for one person since my hubby does not drink coffee–it is the perfect size.

I love your posts of farmer market/grocery finds. 🙂

I have been thinkin’ about joining Costco to score some good deals on the bulk food too. Now that my parents live to far away to mooch off their membership! A big commitment 🙂

Keep up the good blog work!

    MarathonVal,
I mean, I love French press, but if you have a drip maker that you love, there’s not really a reason to totally convert. When our carafe broke for the second time, I converted and probably won’t buy another maker. It is more hands on, but I do think the flavor is awesome.

    Marina,
The grounds steep like tea and then you press them out just like removing a tea bag when the tea is dark enough.

    Cait (Cait’s Plate),
Never had the OKT but I bet it’s good!!

    Julie,
It’s for flavor. Subtle salt makes sweet taste more savory and full.

    Jen C.,
I got it from Karen, who didn’t want it. But you can get them all over the place. Starbucks, Target, BB&B. Mine is Bodum, which seems to be the biggest company that makes them. The only real important factor is how many cups it makes. Ours makes 3, which is really 1 cup or 1.5 or 1 big mug, so we want an 8 cup one which would be idea for weekends when we’re both home.

    Deanna,
Welcome!! Yes, you can make it with any kind of milk you please. I think oatmeal is better with half milk, half water, but you can certainly make it with all water.

    Lainie,
I said in the post I don’t know where she got it, but someone posted a link above.
