A Tribute To Pizza + Cookies

June 21, 2012

This afternoon I also snacked on some Puffins with milk and blackberries…

And then this evening we went to the bakery for a staff meeting!

Our staff totally rocks, and we are so thankful!

Of course we had pizzas on the menu – best dough ever!

Topped with roasted tomatoes, cheese, jalapenos and roasted red peppers

And here is a silent film: A Tribute To Pizza and Cookies

I should have included garden greens in the tribute! We served a huge bowl for a side salad

Plate of delicious:

I only fit once piece of pizza and some salad, but that’s because I spoiled my appetite with cookies before and after dinner!

Leftovers from the breadboard…

Plus a test batch of a different method of the S’mores (which did not turn out as pretty but were just as delicious!)

Sallllted Caramel!!

Our meeting went over well. Kanz is so cute wearing his business hat!

And as if the cookies were not enough…Ellen surprised us with a cake!! Raspberry + Pistachio with a Mascarpone Frosting!

It was as fabulous as it sounds

Please roll me into bed!

I think it is so great that your hubby bakes bread! When you have a little one, homemade bread for sandwiches, french toast, buttered on the side of soups, etc., you will know he is getting the good stuff, made with love! Of course, you are a lucky one to get that good stuff, too! :-)

3 mary @ minutespermile June 21, 2012 at 8:22 pm

4 Chelsea @ Designs on Dinner June 21, 2012 at 8:32 pm

Your bakery has such a fantastic selection of breads and cookies–I’ve never seen such great flavors near me. Looks like a delicious night of food. :)

Do you guys sell that pizza dough in your GH? Or do you sell the already-made pizza? It’s pretty much become my life mission to have a piece of that pizza that I’ve been drooling over on your blog for years! :)

9 KathEats June 21, 2012 at 8:54 pm

We don’t but we should

10 Julie H. of Spinach and Sprinkles June 21, 2012 at 8:40 pm

Oooo, pizza and cookies- and puffins and berries- salted carmel cookies, those sound like something this pregnant woman needs! (I”d go for the s’mores one too!- I’ll even take the broken ones! 😉 )

Hmmm…love salted caramel and smores. Those cookies speak to me! I’m going to have to try and recreate them.

I finally got around to trying Matt’s roasted potatoes. I had never tried it with the cooling rack and they were vastly improved, very crispy. Thanks!

23 Averie @ Averie Cooks June 22, 2012 at 1:01 am

That Raspberry number looks amazing. And so do all the cookies & goodies. Tough job but someone’s gotta taste test all that stuff, right!

24 Nicole June 22, 2012 at 1:01 am

I totally have that cake pinned on pinterest! Looks so good, along with all the food pictured. As always. :)

26 Fran@ Broken Cookies Don't Count June 22, 2012 at 5:39 am

Quite a lot of goodies there! The pizza looks delicious and I love that cooke/pastry that looks like it has fruit in it. I always go for the fruit!

27 Living, Learning, Eating June 22, 2012 at 6:36 am

Someone needs to open a Great Harvest in Manhattan, and another in Cambridge, MA (Harvard Square, please)! I’m not kidding, how are these amazing bakeries not up here???

28 KathEats June 22, 2012 at 6:58 am

It’s because the real estate is so expensive that it’s not profitable :(

29 Living, Learning, Eating June 22, 2012 at 7:03 am

Oh, that makes sense. :( SOOOOOOO SAD!

30 Alyssa (pb and oatmeal) June 22, 2012 at 6:45 am

I wish your bakery was in NY!

31 Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin June 22, 2012 at 7:04 am

I wish my workplace was as awesome as yours!

32 Molly @ RDexposed June 22, 2012 at 7:06 am

Do you have “yes” and “no” boxes on bakery applications asking, “Do you rock?”
Consider adding it to keep up the good vibes. 😉

33 Hillary June 22, 2012 at 7:10 am

That video is food porn at its best. YUM.

34 Katie June 22, 2012 at 7:20 am

How many employees do you have? A friend of mine who is a teacher is working at our GH for the summer and she is really enjoying the experience. I dream of opening up my own bakery or maybe just a GH. Our GH seems to be outgrowing its location as they add more shelves and products. It looks like your location is pretty spacious is space an issue for you?

35 KathEats June 22, 2012 at 7:21 am

About a dozen…and we do have a lot of space, but it’s expensive

36 Hope @ With A Side Of Hope June 22, 2012 at 7:23 am

What a fun night! The pizza and cakes look great! :)

37 Mom June 22, 2012 at 8:01 am

Love the movie!

38 Nicole June 22, 2012 at 8:03 am

We need a Great Harvest in Maine desperately! SOMEONE…ANYONE!

39 Aly @ This Jewelry Wardrobe June 22, 2012 at 8:21 am

Those pizzas look amazing! Off topic but I have to ask… where did you get that pretty mug in the first pic? I love it!

40 KathEats June 22, 2012 at 8:48 am

OpenSky! Hues + Brews

41 Angel7 June 22, 2012 at 8:44 am

Are the Salted Caramel cookies a tribute to Jeni’s Salty Caramel icecream? :)

42 Andy Burton June 22, 2012 at 9:02 am

I’ve made that pistachio/marscapone cake. I used strawberries instead of raspberries. So good!

43 Christine June 22, 2012 at 10:27 am

That cake looks delicious! Recipe??? I’d make it in a heartbeat!

44 Amanda @flecksofgreen June 22, 2012 at 10:51 am

Yum! Those pizzas looks so good! What kind of crust is the one with the green flecks? Some sort of garlic/spinach?
I love eating cereal out of a mug–I sware it tastes different than in a bowl! lol

45 KathEats June 22, 2012 at 10:53 am

Spinach Feta!

46 Ashley @ Hudson on the Potomac June 22, 2012 at 11:33 am

47 Lexi @ You, Me, & A World to See June 23, 2012 at 2:32 pm

Raspberry + pistachio! whoa that sounds crazy exotic/delish :)

48 Amanda Cowan June 24, 2012 at 8:47 pm

We live in Az and have one GH, in Tempe. Which is awesome, but not a location I get to everyday. I’m a sahm and I live in Southeast Gilbert. Anyway, I visit my parents in Wyoming every Summer with my girls and I always make sure to visit a GH there. There are so many locations there compared to here! If I was planning on staying here in Az I think I’d consider opening one! Anyway, loved my GH stash that I picked up. It made me vow to try to make it to Tempe more often!
