Cardamom makes all the difference…try it in steamed milk!
I think I need that spoon…
Cardamom, huh? I put together DIY jars of cookie mix last night that contain that very spice… guess I’ll have to throw a pinch of it in my oatmeal tomorrow to test it out! That’s one of those spices that if you go just a tad overboard, it kills all other flavors (like nutmeg).
LOVE that spoon so much ! Would u remember were you gut it from I wonder if they custom make them , breakfast looks amazing by the way
<3 pumpkin
It was from Wooden Hive, but it looks like she’s on vacation!

i LOVE that spoon!! seems to fit you perfectly as well. enjoy your day, kath!
Definitely an oats day – it’s so grey outside! Great idea with the cardamom – I’ve been addicted to it this winter.
That spoon is so cute! I love it!
Happy Tuesday!
Never thought about adding cardamon! Such a good idea!
That spoon is fantastic!
Ha, Cardamom! That flavor has become a joke in my family because we had a surprisingly high number of instances in which we inquired (at a restaurant, party, dinner, etc) what that extra little ingredient was that was kicking up the taste a ton– the answer was ALWAYS cardamom.
So I guess the mystery ingredient is no more a mystery for you guys!
Cardamom is so flavorful, I’m just too cheap to buy it! haha That would be a great stocking stuffer for a foodie!
But you don’t need a lot, so it’s actually an “investment”!
Haha I feel like this should be your post title EVERY day.
That bowl looks yummy!
I’ve been loving cardamom lately too. I’ve added it to some smoothies with other warm spiced (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves etc) and even a little bit changes the taste so much! Looks like a delicious bowl!
I agree with everyone… cute spoon!
CUTE spoon!! Love it.
cardamon?! very interesting! love the addition, though. yum!
mm ive made cookies with cardamom and they taste SO unique! adding it to oatmeal is a good idea!
I’ve never tried cardamon in my oats before. Sounds like it would be good though! So many great things you can add to oats to make them taste completely different!
I like the banana and pb combo in basically anything! When I had to head to my internship at the hospital at 5 AM this is almost exactly what I packed in a travel thermos for on the go.

Woo hoo!
mmm what a great idea!! I used to have cardamom pods boiled with my milk as a kid in india, it always tasted so yummy!
Love, love, love, love cardamom! Hadn’t thought to add it to my oats…until now. Thanks for the tip
Have a great day!!
Mmmmm a little bit of spice is always nice.
I was just talking about cardamom with a friend online…yesterday. Ive had it on the brain ever since and now I see this post.
And that spoon…so cute!
Your spoon is a hit! I know my son would love it…he eats a bowl of oatmeal every morning…he loves pure maple syrup drizzled on his.
Great oat mix! The colour is fab
That looks like one heck of a bowl of oats! And I LOVE all the natural light pouring in!
The base of oats/pumpkin looks so creamy and delicious! I don’t eat grains, so I think I’ll skip the oatS and try to use something else in it’s place but I REALLY like the general idea
You’re so faithful to your blog. The other blogs I read sometimes they don’t post everyday but you’re always there. Thank you for your faithfulness.
I hope you and Matt have a very Merry Christmas.
Cute spoon! I never would have thought to add cardamom to oatmeal, such a good idea!
Do you ever get tired of posting oatmeal over and over and over again. I know I get tired of reading about it, so I can’t imagine how boring it must be to continually take pictures of it and try to think of something interesting to say about it. There is no longer anything interesting to say about oatmeal. So so boring.
No, never!! Oatmeal is awesome.
I love when I add in just one extra spice that makes all the difference!

Haha – love those!
Absolutely adorable spoon! It’s almost like you’re playing with your food- grown up version [aka not actually with your food, but with what you use to eat it]… Obviously much more sophisticated
Have you always had that spoon or have I somehow not noticed it? It’s so adorable!
I’ve had it for a while but it doesn’t appear all that much
You oatmeal mix sounds very good…makes me want breakfast again!
Love the idea to add cardamom! I always use pumpkin pie spice, and I’m not sure if that contains cardamom or not… I’ll have to check tomorrow morning when I’m making my pumpkin oatmeal!
I would have never thought to put cardamom in oatmeal. Will have to try!
