KERF Goes Corporate

So instead of studying Organic all morning, ZestyCook and I cooked up some KERF designs!!

A logo:

logo_whitesquare_candara

And a bumper sticker!

bumper_sticker_no shadow_candara

Would you guys buy them if I figured out a way to have them made and sold? I’m not a bumper sticker person, but I’d put it on my car for a good cause 🙂 Or maybe just my lunchbox, binder, locker, etc.

 this !
I hope to get some t-shirts and stuff in the works over Christmas break…more details to come!

Cory is a logo MASTERMIND!! Email him if you’re interested in one: ZestyCook at Gmail.com (or at ZestoCook.com.)

Kath. Eats.

So for lunch today I had leftover veggies from last night along with a tiny piece of salmon leftover from Karen’s sandwich on Saturday –

Plus some cottage cheese with wheatberries + pumpkin butter. SO GOOD!! This CC is actually 4% fat that the husband brought home b/c it’s on its expiration death bed. I’ve never had it before, but boy it is creamy! I don’t think it’s worth the fat upgrade to switch permanently, but it’s fun to have for a treat this time.

+ an apple –

My friend Victoria brought me a chocolate – I might have that during lab to celebrate the end!

Study time!

Wow I love the logo and bumper sticker! Such a neat idea.

I would love to do a logo for my blog. It would be really fun. 🙂

Are the bumper stickers the kind that can peel off and you stick it on the window?

    The logos are really cute!

That looks like a honeycrisp 🙂

Full fat dairy products are sooo good… I usually go with lowfat as a nice compromise between being too dull (skim) and really rich (full). I bet the cottage cheese was great 🙂

Kath in Israel the most bought Cottage cheese has 9% fat! Its REALLY creamy; my ma used to give it to us all the time when we were smaller. Now we stick with the 3% or 1%. No fat-free option though!

Totally off-topic: have you ever tried making your own Greek Yogurt? I’ve successfully made it two weeks in a row using 1% Milk and my crockpot! It’s fantastic and definitely easier on my budget than buying 3 containers of TJ’s Greek yogurt every week.

    Hey Kath,
I love that the first design has “A blog devoted to healthy living” on it, but I like the actual design of the 2nd one even more. If you go with the 2nd one, I’m sure people would simply visit your site out of curiosity to see what it’s all about. If I didn’t know KERF was a healthy living blog, I would probably assume it was a website for some sort of restaurant.

Anyway, I don’t put stickers on my car, but I would definitely find a place for your sticker where people would see it – maybe on my water bottle as I always carry that around with me.

Tshirts would be great as well. I’m sure plenty of your readers would be willing to purchase one and help spread the word. I would.

Yay on almost being done with lab! I like the sticker too, though I don’t put any on my car. Maybe on something else, or on a shirt.

Shawna, I’d love to get your Greek yogurt recipe too please.

Can someone explain how to steam vegetables? I have a metal steamer but keep burning things in it. How long do you steam for, how much water do you put in, how do you know when the veggies are done, etc.? Thanks

    Moran ,
    9%!! Wow! I bet it’s good though.

    shawna ,
I don’t have a crock pot 🙁 I have strained yogurt through papertowels, but I didn’t think it was worth it since I had had to buy yogurt first.

    Angie ,
I don’t know what you mean by button 🙁 Can you use the logo or bumper sticker, shrunk down? I dont’ know anything about design so I couldn’t whip something out.

Kath – you need to get a crockpot, if only for making yogurt :). You can get one for about $10 this time of year.

    Here’s the recipe that I use: http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008/10/you-can-make-yogurt-in-your-crockpot.html

I used 1% milk and did not add any powdered milk or gelatin since I strained it in a paper-towel-lined mesh colander for about an hour after it was made.

The result is about 2/3 gallon of yogurt from 1 gallon of milk. That’s a lot of yogurt for under $4.
