Ants In My Pants

Whilst in the middle of doing some ab rolling at the gym, I felt a sting on my left (butt) cheek. You know how sometimes your skin just hurts for a second? That’s what I thought it was. But it got worse and I got goose bumps and suddenly I realized something was biting me. I squeezed my shorts hard and definitely felt something squish! AHHHHHHHHHHHH. I shook my pants [keep in mind I’m in the  middle of the gym stretching area!] and never saw anything come out. I rushed to the bathroom and sure enough there was a nice bite on my bum!

WHAT IS WITH ME AND BUGS!?!?!?!?!?

I recovered and made my way into 12PM cycle class, my intended exercise. I haven’t been to cycle in ages and was happy to be going to a class. Sometimes they are quite long though (esp. when you bike to the gym and back for transportation) and I decided I’d leave at 12:30. But the instructor was so entertaining and the music so good that I stayed for the whole 45 minutes! Definitely going back to that class.

I was famished when I left and my whole ride home I was chanting "Tuna. Nooda. Tuna. Nooda" with each pedal.

A lightening fast shower later, I whipped this Tuna Nooda salad up

IMG_1456 (480x640)

  • Romaine dressed in olive oil and Crazy salt
  • The last quarter of the tuna nooda casserole
  • ~1 heaping tbsp leftover homemade pimento cheese
  • Old London Melba toasts – Spicy 3 pepper
  • And a new hot sauce by David Ortiz!

IMG_1459 (640x480)

One of my hometown high school friends sent me these hot sauces to try: Big Papi. I’m a big fan of hot sauce and apparently so is David Ortiz

 this !

IMG_1453 (640x480)

I started with the original, which was super spicy!! I liked the flavor a lot too. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to handle the Triple and Grand Slam, cause this guy was really hot already!! Matt’s gonna love it.

Served with a glass of H2O

Speaking of Matt, when I came back in the room after lunch, I found him like this:

IMG_1461 (480x640)

Somebody’s tired!! He has now moved into a fetal position right under my desk chair. LOL.

Off to put my whole workout clothes drawer in the washing machine. This is the second bite I’ve gotten this week and I’m not taking any more chances!

I tried Big Papi’s hotsauce recently and was surprised at how much I liked it. He just opened a restaurant in Massachusetts just outside Boston too.

You need to spray bugspray on yourself Kath!

Oh and THANKS for being part of the Komen Charlotte Race for the Cure. My family, as many families have been, has been effected by breast cancer. I made a small donation to your site.

My gross bug story of the week: I picked up my farmer’s market share that included corn. I dehusked (is that a word?!) one and was about to cut the raw corn off on my salad when I realized that part of the corn was infested with MAGGOTS the same color as the corn kernels. I promptly took the husks off the rest and found out that was the only one with maggots, although I have been obsessively checking them every time I put one in a salad!

    Kath,
Reminds me of last week when my hubby got home from work and pulled his shoes off – he went to take his sock off and I said “what is that???” He had put his shoe on and I guess there was a baby SCORPION in there!!!!! OMG!!! Fortunately, I guess he smooshed it before it could sting him. He wore it around in his shoe all freakin day!!! OMG!!! I hope that never happens to me – I would pass out.

I’m convinced bugs only attack those who are most annoyed by them. My boyfriend HATES bugs, whereas I tend not to notice them, and he gets about three times the number of bites I do. It’s all a mental game, learn to be zen with the bugs 😛
