Weekend Energy

October 22, 2010

I’ve got some serious weekend energy boiling up!! It is the BEST weekend of the year (second, perhaps, to Christmas Eve, which I also absolutely love) because it’s my BIRTHDAY weekend!! My actual birthday is Tuesday Oct 26, but of course I extend the celebration, month long Party smile

We have a full house of guests coming and more locals to celebrate with!!

I hit up the POOL at noon. Some days swimming just clicks. And sometimes I like to completely zone out and just use the clock as my guide. Other times I like to count and make my goal laps.

Today I did 26 laps (52 lengths) as fast as I could. I can feel it a little in my shoulders now! I didn’t stop except to squirt in water a few times (my throat gets so dry when I swim!) It was an awesome swim – perhaps my best ever!!

I showered at the gym, so the bike ride home was HOT. Even though it’s only 57* out there, I think I was overdressed.

LUNCH!

I had a huge salad full of all of the leftovers in the fridge plus greens from the garden!

IMG_7953

  • Green bean + mushroom saute
  • Lima beans
  • Squash
  • Zucchini
  • Carrot
  • Celery
  • Olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • Bleu cheese
  • Raisins

Plus some more of those crunchy sweet tater chips on the side! I probably had another serving this size from the bag as I prepared lunch ; )

Matt’s making crackers for the weekend, and I have errands to run and then a big trip to Richmond to pick up MEGHANN!

Want to start the weekend out right? Try my Sparkling Honey Basil Julep!! Martini glass

Happy almost birthday!! I wish I could have made it up for the race, but I’ve got the Wicked 10K next weekend in VB. It actually sold out a few days ago. Still need a costume idea. :/ If anyone out there can give a costume suggestion, I’m game. I need to be able to run 6.2 miles in it comfortably, though.

Your salad looks just about perfect. Then again, any salad with blue cheese is about perfect to me. Love that stuff!

I love how upbeat you sound. Hope you have a fantastic birthday weekend!

Those sweet potato chips look amazing and I want some right now…along with that salad. I definitely need to start doing that – throwing leftovers on my salad. Love the idea and your creativeness =)
