If floating around in a pool burns calories, then I got a GREAT workout this afternoon!!!
I had those anxiety chest pains all day today. I think it was just the stress of moving on top of going back to work and having my own floors and all. The day went well, but I couldn’t shake the feeling.
When I got home I received a great shoulder massage from Matt that took ALL the pains away. Then I decided that water therapy was much more appropriate than an elliptical in an air conditioned gym.
To the pool we went!
I prepared a Gin+Tonic – MINUS the gin! Just tonic, lime and a splash of bitters.
I studied for my presentation tomorrow and then we splashed around for a while.
The crew made dinner while I packed my lunch for tomorrow and blogged.
I found a lovely windowsill that served well for a blogging station!
1 out of 3 features were these mushroom raviolis that Karen found at EarthFare.
Matt microwaved some potatoes to soften them and then pan-seared them in Garlic Gold (in fact, I think everything in this dinner was seasoned with Garlic Gold!) and some dried dill. They were awesome!
And lastly, we steamed up some kale (drizzled in Garlic Gold..) with carrots and topped with a few goat cheese crumbles.
A little piece of Great Harvest Rosemary Garlic toast also made it onto my plate.
Delish!
I’m still feeling a little hungry – ’bout to go make a dent in this water therapy!!
Have a good night folks!

I just love that cover up! That pool looks super relaxing and beautiful.
That’s such a pretty dress! A little relaxation never hurt anyone;)
I wish you were going to still be in Charolette on Aug 16th…I’d love to meet you. We’re passing through on our way to Cancun:)
I’m doing a summer internship as a hospital chaplain this summer and I get those same anxious feelings when I’m on call! I hate being alone and dealing with multiple calls at once and feeling completely incompetent in times of tragedy. I’m sure that massage helped – I try to remind myself to continue to take deep breaths to make it through the day. Good luck!
Just downed a huge chunk of watermelon…just the hydration and sweet I needed post-salty-din din.
Breathe, Kath, breathe. Your stuff is secure in a pod and you can just enjoy being a guest now. 4 more days of work right?
sorry about the chest pains! glad you are feeling better and taking care of yourself.
Yay for a pool! I’m excited to finally get to take advantage of our community pool this weekend.
I don’t plan on doing anything purposely “aerobic.” Just frolicking around!
Mmm, I want watermelon.
water therapy works! also: watermelon therapy
I love laying around at the pool! Hope you get some rest tonight!
I love dill potatoes! Mushroom ravioli and goat cheese aren’t bad either
Cute dress. I like the idea of microwaving the potatoes first to soften them. I have such a hard time cooking any kind of potato.
Love water therapy!
I love your dress. Too cute!
Love being pool side!
Gorgeous dress! Definitely take some time for yourself. I’m glad you were able to unwind a bit today.
You look relaxed by the pool! Sorry for the stress, but I am glad you got a little time to relax tonight! Enjoy the rest of your evening!
So jealous that you have a nice pool at your disposal. I would be getting some serious use out of that thing!
Laying around the pool seems to make everything better… glad you got time to relax after all that moving.
Watermelon! I’m thinking about becoming a member of food buzz, what are the pros and cons? Any help would be appreciated.
Kath & Matt,
Congratulations on beginning your next chapter. Wow… looks like you’re living at a resort–very swanky! Enjoy it–you deserve it. Wanted to wait a couple of days to send so you weren’t too overloaded with comments during such a whirlwind of moving. Looks like your family and friends are real professional moving engineers. I am sure settlement will go fine, but it sure will feel great to have that behind you and be relaxing at the beach. LOL
cute dress & lovely pool. being a city girl, i havent seen huge pools & backyards for ages!
That’s my kind of workout!!
Your dinner sounds soooo good and full of delicious veggies!
i am always amazed at the ways you are able to come up with meat-less dinners… if only i were so creative! watermelon is a wonderful thirst quencher/dessert in the summer!
I absolutely think swimming is a form of therapy!
I hope things calm down and you’re able to relax soon! Moving is stressful enough without career/school stuff thrown on top!
I love your dress! Where did you get it?!
Floating around in the pool or lake definitely counts as a workout which I love because I do that often.
I’m sure the chest pains & stress is super normal, but YOU CAN DO IT! Just take everything a little at a time. My Dad always says, “Don’t sweat the small stuff, & remember, it’s all small stuff.”.
that pool looks so refreshing!
What a gorgeous summery dress!!!!
your dress looks like a moo moo that a 300 lb woman would wear. Come on, live a little.. show some skin..
Are you trying to spell the word mumu? I think what’s special about your comment is how you managed to insult more than one group of people, all at once.
Man, Sims… you gotta watch what you say here. There are people trying to lose weight (not that I’m one of them) but please don’t stereotype.
Um, yikes. I don’t think it’s a dress, I think it’s a beach/pool cover up. It’s supposed to be comfortable, not seductive!
Can I just have your whole dinner? Please? Even though I didn’t have the intense pool-floating workout you did to refuel from?
what a great day and you look so relaxed!
Dinner looks fabulous dahling (said in a Southern Drawl)
Cute cover-up! Hope your presentation goes well…
I hope that pool helped! Love the dress and you should totally get a smaller version of that umbrella for a hat because it would look SO cute on you.
Ha!
Love the dress. A question for you, if a recipe calls for 1 stick of butter, what is a good replacement to cut down on the calories and fat? Thanks.
Use less butter? Use whipped butter? Use 1 stick and eat less of the finished product?
Water therapy is great! Matt is just such a great husband for giving you a shoulder rub.
Those potatoes look divine! And I tried kale for the first time ever yesterday – so good! I was going to make your kale chips but I thought it’d stretch further if I made a kale and seaweed salad, but then I ate it all in one go anyway, so that defeated the stretching-out purpose!
I love your dress. It’s really cute.
I get those anxiety chest pains too. I had them all last week. I think it must have been the week for moving because I did it that as well and it’s so stressful. Let’s hope it’s a better week for both of us and life gets back to a normal pace.
Water therapy cures all. I hope it made you feel at least a little better!!
Take it easy girl!!! Glad you got some relaxation time in…love those sunglasses
I guess that would be water therapy! I hope you’re having fun relaxing
Oh, and your Garlic Gold’d dinner looks deliiiiicious!
Wei-Wei
That dress is so nice! Looks really comfy.
Oh how I would love to have a pool in my house, to lounge there all day, reading, swimming…amazing
Dinner looks great and so does that pool! How relaxing
I think I have the same glasses in pink. Kohl’s?
Forever 21!
You look so sophisticated in your poolside clothing! Like one of those fancy women from a 60s film, with the umbrella etc. Love it!
Good luck in your presentation today
Some quality time at the pool sounds wonderful. Can’t wait till I get home to do that as well! And I love your dress! So cute!
Great looking pool!
Kath, I LOVE that dress! Where did you get it?
Pool cover up from Old Navy a few years ago!!
Lovin the pool-side relaxation! and that dinner looks so good.
oh that pool looks so refreshing!
It looks like you had an awesome relaxing day. Love your dress!
Those potatoes look so good
That water looks beautiful! Gorgeous dress
