Anybody feel the aftershock rumbles last night at 1am, or was that just our bed
This morning I made a yogurt bowl of layered flavors
Greek yogurt (Oikos)
Banana
Blueberries
A sunflower butter ball I had in the freezer
Stale honey puffs from Whole Foods (had to toss the rest – I can’t eat cereal fast enough
)
Sunflower butter – replenished by my friend Meredith!!
Chia seeds
Coconut
This mason jar towel from Oh Little Rabbit is perhaps my very favorite linen!!
Vanilla tea time! Still no desire for coffee…I suspect that day is just around the corner though.
I’m on the M/W/F/S schedule at the bakery, so I’m working at home today. News breaks at noon!

I have an insatiable desire for coffee 24/7 8)
I’m so excited for your news, I’m glad you’re not keeping us in suspense any longer
Love your linens!
The last photo is so serene! Miss you already!!!
Love the tea towel! It’s hard to find something nice here in Orlando. Except at Crate & Barrel
Have a great day honey
I find great ones at Anthropologie in Orlando
Heather,
Thanks honey – gotta wait for sale in Anthropologie
Did you melt the sunbutter ball? Yum!!
Mmm SSB on anything is so delicious!!! I eat multiple servings EVERY day! Its just so darn good!
We had the same breakfast (big shock! haha). Layered yogurt bowls are so good. I wish I had that actual bowl though – I’m totally swooning over it!
I was totally thinking about you “big news” last night. I’m excited to read about it later today!! Have a wonderful day… hopefully sans aftershocks.
I’m eager to hear the news!!!
I was thinking about a yogurt bowl this morning, but they just don’t keep me feeling that full like oatmeal or even a smoothie does. So, I had toast and a little leftover of Ashley’s egg/quinoa bake. Hope that keeps me full until lunch! I work in an office, so sometimes I get boredom hunger. It can be tough to ignore.
That tablecloth is super pretty and delicate-looking. Perfect for food photography!
Can’t wait to hear the long-awaited news!
Same here on waiting for the news!
Wow, that bowl has a lot going on this morning! Very cute tea towel!
I’m so excited for the news- you have me a the edge of my seat!
I’m so excited for the news- you have me at the edge of my seat!
What a delicious looking bowl of cereal! I haven’t had coffee for a while either but anticipate that it will end when university starts up again!
So excited! And so full of pretty-certain guesses
I just got my first ever bag of chia seeds and am loooooving them!
I think I need to experiment with teas more… any brands/flavors in particular that are your favorites?
I just got 3 black teas from Adagio teas after a reader recommended them – Vanilla, Coconut and Birthday cake. Love them all!
Birthday cake sounds yummy! Thanks!
Do you “smash” up the banana?
I think you should dedicate a portion of your site to linens, maybe in Home Neat Home?
I have a hard time comprehending the “throw cereal away” bit…I usually eat a single box in 3-4 days max! Definitely no stale cereal in this house!
Well I have no clue what your news is, so I can’t wait to read about it!
Seriously love your breakfasts…cant wait to read the news at noon!
Excites to hear about your long-awaited news!
How do you get your nut butters so drippy to drizzle on top of your breakfasts like that?
It’s the magic of sunflower butter. That is all.
I can’t seem to get on the blueberries and nut (or seed) butter train. Bananas? Definitely. Apples? Yep. But berries? It just doesn’t appeal. Perhaps I am missing something fantastic?
Can’t wait to hear the news!
~
Mmm that breakfast looks so good with the blueberries! I love those little balls of flavour
“or was that just our bed”
Scandalous, Kath!
haha agreed! I was surprised no one else mentioned it!
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who was going to write this! Hah!
Hhahaha, I was thinking the same thing!
Me too! Hilarious!
Ditto- I was all “did Kath just make a reference..?!”- seems so unlike you! Well, the blog version of you, at least
Tee hee!
1 am aftershocks in Northern Albemarle, too.
Ever since you gave the recipe for iced coffee, I have made it almost everyday
On the days that I do not have it, though, I do not feel like I need it.

I loooovveee sunflower seed butter. Thanks for spreading the love <3
I’ll be anticipating your lunch blog post! That linen and the bike one are my favorites of yours!
News!!!
the only rumblings in my bed last night were from the nagging cough I have! blah!
Love the cute linens, and the yogurt bowl looks amazing!!!! Can’t wait for the news…!
Ahh the suspense! I’ll be on a plane at 12pm, not fair!
Can’t wait to hear the news!!!
I can’t eat cereal quickly enough either… that’s why I love the long shelf life and versatility of oats!
Thanks for posting the link for that tea towel. It’s cute!
I can never get enough coffee… I’ve decided to stop trying to fight it. But I do limit it to one cup per day!
I’m the opposite with cereal! If I get a kind I like, it’s gone in the blink of an eye!
What exactly is a sunflower butter ball, Kath? Like a doughball of sorts?
Here’s the recipe:

Such beautiful pictures Kath!
I have the opposite problem – I eat cereal too fast! A handful here, a handful there:) Excited for the news!
aftershocks freak me out still! my dog never catches them.
Those pictures made me so hungry, and I’m eating breakfast as I type this. Yum!
“Anybody feel the aftershock rumbles last night at 1am, or was that just our bed
”
was this a dirty joke, Kath??
can’t wait to hear the news!
I love the orange mug! I am not only jealous of the breakfast as usual:)
BAhahahaha…rumbling bed.
I just made sunflower butter for the first time and loved it! I have tried it a few times and wasn’t a fan. Pretty excited that I like it now, because sunflowers are cheap!
Tea towel is so cute
I can’t wait for breaking news!!!
I love this tea towel! My grandma had a lot of hand embroidered tea towels, and whenever I see them now, I think of her
They have some really cute ones at Antrhopologie that I’m lusting over!
Eating SIAB with my two babies in honor of Kath right now and refreshing the page waiting for the announcement!
I absolutely love the colors on that mason jar linen… seriously orange and turquoise are my two favorite colors right now… I currently have orange flowers and turquoise place mats on our kitchen table
I love the idea of freezing those sunflower balls and using them as oatmeal toppers later… it looks like a great recipe!
I can’t eat cereal fast enough either, I keep it in the fridge and it seems to last a bit longer… esp with the humidity!
Kath,
I have recently started reading your blog each day! I lovvvvee it! I was wondering (as someone as obsessed with the wonders of oatmeal as you are) how many calories do you aim for for breakfast? I am a runner as well, so I was curious to compare with you. Thanks for your help!
Melissa,
I don’t aim for a calorie amount, but I know my breakfasts are usually between 400-600. They often last me 4-5 hours to lunchtime without needing a snack.
hahah-very funny!
Mmmmm-what’s a sunflower butter ball?
I love your earthquate joke! I’m sure your bedroom was rocking more than the average.
That breakfast looks scrumptious and makes my plain oats jealous. I need to step up the stir-ins!
On the edge of my seat… waiting…
me too! it’s way past noon!
She must mean West Coast time!!!
It’s taking me this long to write it!!
Publish!!
I love that yogurt bowl! I need to get blueberries ASAP… they look so good!
Girl! I never get bored of your oatmeal shots! They always look fab!
Sunflowery yumm!! I had myself a “KERF breakfast” this morning with SFB & Jam on High Five!
It’s 3pm and your post makes me long for tomorrow’s breakfast already
