Sing It Girl!

Say farewell to Allie! Her summer at GH Cville has come to an end. We will miss her daily laugh (and daily oranges!)

IMG_0143-2Blog

Hannah will miss her most of all (PS. we didn’t plan the shirts!!)

IMG_0141-2Blog

Matt went home to chill this afternoon, and as part of our husband + wife contract, whoever isn’t at the bakery makes dinner. Most nights that is me, or we are both there, so it was a treat for me to close and come home to a Man Meal!

IMG_6168-2Blog

Not only did I walk in the door to a delicious meal – but my blog setting was all set up for me too – camera and all! So considerate of him : )
IMG_6170-2Blog

I picked up some chicken from the Organic Butcher the other day along with some Virginia potatoes and green beans. Along with the home-brewed beer, this meal was 100% local!

IMG_6178-2Blog

My half pint turned into a quarter pint when I tipped it 🙁

IMG_6181-2Blog

IMG_6169-2Blog

LOVE the rosemary olive oil chicken from the OB!

IMG_6179-2Blog

Beans cooked with some vinegar, garlic, salt and peppa

IMG_6173-2Blog

And fire-roasted taters [precious]

IMG_6184-2Blog

IMG_6174-2Blog

IMG_6166-2Blog

After dinner we walked to the UVA grounds for an A Capella Rotunda Sing!

IMG_0144-2Blog

We felt like we blended right in. Although I’m not sure Karen did (no offense Karen!)

IMG_0147-2Blog

IMG_0150-2Blog

We enjoyed hearing a wide variety of performances – I love music!

IMG_0151-2Blog

I get chills thinking about Thomas Jefferson founding this university so very long ago. I loved hearing the alma mater on the steps!

IMG_0152-2Blog

The real reason we went to the event was to see our employee Jenny and her group, the Virginia Belles!

IMG_0153-2Blog

Jenny actually had a SOLO, which made it extra exciting for us. And the song she sand – Lady Gaga’s “You and I,” which I absolutely loooooooooooove!

IMG_0158-2BlogIMG_0159-2BlogIMG_0160-2Blog

Sing it Jenny!! She was amazing, especially how they put “Virginia” in the song : )

IMG_0161-2Blog

Lastly, I really loved this crazy group of boys!!

IMG_0166-2Blog

Long walk home. Time for bed!

I know this is kind of a stupid question, but I’m very new to cooking. For your potatoes, how do you cook them? Do you bake them a bit first and then chop them up and roast them? Also, I love the UVA campus! I was there a few years ago when I went to Foxfield with my sorority sister who transferred to Maryland. Hope you enjoyed the beautiful scenery!

I graduated 10 years ago, so you’d think I’d get over it somehow… When I was at UVA, my fave acapella group (The Virginia Gentlemen) would sing “Meet Virginia”. Love. And, the last time I was at the Rotunda, it was for a group shot at our wedding, then pics walking down the lawn with my new hubby…
