It’s peeking out everywhere!
Whipped Banana Cottage Cheese Pie
I say pie because the cheesy cottage cheese, Hail Merry cinnamon cranberry orange topping and Madison‘s Walnut Pecan butter made my brain register "pie."
The Mix
- 1/4 cup oats
- 2 tbsp Bob’s Red Mill 6 Grain Hot Cereal
- Half banana
- Half tbsp chia seeds
- Pinch salt
- 1/4 cup cottage cheese, stirred in at end
- Hail Merry grawnola crumbles
- Madison‘s Walnut Pecan butter melt
Greeeeeeat creamy texture today!
Shenandoah Joe’s Coffee
And a bit of sun warmth
May the sun shine on your shoulders today

I hope so! I’m stuck inside all day, but at the YMCA so it’s okay
Hopefully I’ll be able to get some sun on these shoulders! Love the sound of your oats, have a good day!
The sun IS shining today!
Haha, love it- I’ve been out all day, I walk in for lunch and the second I glance at my laptop, your post shows on my google reader. Incredible timing!
Love the pictures!
I wish it was going to be sunny today but it’s been really rainy here.
It is gorgeous here today, I hope to get out side a little. I have a skype client around lunch time and I am thinking of doing it on my deck.
Those oats look yummy! The sun would shine on my shoulders… if I wasn’t trapped in my office (without windows ) all day.
MMm pie!
I had a nice sunny breakfast today too…the sun seemed to rise really quickly today…or perhaps it was because the event happened while I was in the shower! I woke up in the dark and then was blinded when I came out!
Your house looks beautiful, by the way. Clean and simple yet filled with character!
So pretty with the morning sunshine spilling through!
plus pie sounds way better than cheese mess
Yay for pie and sunshine
Hi Kath,
Love your blog. I’m curious though, was this morning’s breakfast
cooked any or just all stirred together?
Keep up the GREAT work!
Cooked a la “whipped banana oats” method: http://www.katheats.com/kaths-tribute-to-oatmeal/
Ahh, so jealous! We have gray, cold weather this morning! Maybe some of your sun will come up my way.
The walnut pecan butter sounds like a perfect pie topping
All my mind registered was envy, want, and hunger, which is problematic as it’s 11:12pm here…
Beautiful house pics!!! We have the perfect Fall morning here in Alexandria

It is a beautiful day in Masachusettes as well! I love waking up to the sun shining.
I haven’t tried cottage cheese in my oatmeal – I sometimes can’t get behind the texture. I do love ricotta stirred in my oatmeal though!
I love natural lighting! It makes everything look so much better. I am in love with your kitchen. It’s so quaint and lovely. I wish my kitchen looked like that!
I love the way my new house looks in the morning with the light shining through the windows. I’ve been in dim apartments for so long, so it’s nice to have some place with a lot of natural light!
Your house looks so beautiful with windows for easy sun access
Your cup looks cute! Is it twistable to make a white cup and a red cup?

Your oats look unbelievably creamy today-yum! Makes me want to have oats for breakfast
Your house is absolutely beautiful. We don’t have any sun shining on us today. Fog and rain
I love your kitchen.

Beautiful day and beautiful food. Doesn’t get much better!
Hi Kath- I’ve been reading your blog for about a year and the weirdest thing happened last night. I live in New York but I’m working on a project up in Boston. I was driving down Beacon St. in Brookline last night and I swear I saw your sister. I recognized her from all of your pics. I tried to tell my friend that I think I just saw someone who I’ve never met but she thought I was crazy
Anyways, just wanted to share
SO FUN when that happens!! I’m sure it was her
Beautiful photographs. Thanks for the recipe!
I love the sunshine pictures! It’s a nice change from the rainy gloomy weather we’ve had here.

As beautiful as the sun is, I hope it stays hidden all day here in Oregon. It is so darn cozy!
Love the sunshine!!! It is sunny here in Texas too!!!
You’re house is so adorable!!! I love the wood floors!
I love breakfasts that taste like pie.
Your home is so nice! I love it and all the sunshine pictures.
The clouds just recently covered up our sun.
But I wasn’t complaining at the time since I was outside horseback riding. Clouds are your friend then!
Have a fabulous morning
I wish we had some sunshine here! It’s been gray and rainy for the past couple of days and it’s not having a very good effect on my mood. Your breakfast however, makes me very happy!
i love sunshine
It’s pretty gray here, so I needed a little sunshine!
Your home is beautiful!
Ok. I admit it.
The first time I saw you put cottage cheese in your oatmeal I thought, “What is that girl thinkin??”
Then I tried it.
I owe you big time. It is fabulous.
mm mthose oats do look really good! Any thoughts on what to use instead of cottage cheese as I am lactose intolerant?
I also LOVE the paint color (the orange color) on your walls. So pretty!
Do you mean a flavor similarity? Do they make lactose free cottage cheese? What about ricotta?
According to Kraft foods facebook, today is National Teddy Bear day. I hope you are planning a party for your bears
Oh my!!!! I willl have to go get them from their rocking chair in the guest room!
I love finding little glimpses of the sun shine:) Makes the day that much brighter!
love seeing the sun shining on your new digs!
i’ve never tried cottage cheese in my oats, i think you’ve convinced me to do so and soon!
Your house looks so cozy and welcoming
Those oats look so yummy! I can’t wait to try cottage cheese in my oats!

love love love the new home so much!
What a pretty kitchen you have, Kath!
Your breakfast oatmeal/cottage cheese bowl creations always look so delicious! I haven’t gotten into cooked oatmeal much. Not sure.. it always seems so plain to me.. yet I really like oats when they aren’t cooked and just thrown into my yogurt. I need to try to add cottage cheese to oats… I’ve never done that. Thanks for the idea.
Looks like it’s still summertime there.
Hey Kath, so you’ve probably gotten a couple dozen already but I gave you a Cherry on Top award cuz your blog totally rocks.
