Busy day My presentation went well though! My GI tract was all nervous and I ended up being starving all afternoon – with no time to eat because I had a long list of patients to see! I don’t think my lunch was big enough. I finally devoured my emergency bag of almonds and apricots upon leaving at 4:30. I had stomach pains I was so hungry Hangry!
And once home, I turned around and we were off to sign our closing docs. |Thisclose| to having the house sold!! The keys are no longer in our possession –
We headed back to Karen’s, changed clothes, and I had snack #2. Still starving! A juicy, weighty peach covered in Nuttzo. Karen has rekindled my love for Nuttzo!! So crunchy, it was the perfect topping
Matt and I hopped on our bikes and were headed up to Caitlin‘s new house!! Can we believe with her move and my move we’re now only 2.7 miles apart!?!? We biked there in about 18 minutes. So fun – and a great way to squeeze in a little workout!
Guess who else is house hunting in Charlotte – The HANGRYs!!!!
I played with Caitlin‘s cute doggins (so strange to meet them in person!)
And played with her cute hubs
And we walked to dinner just a block away at a fancy French-Italian restaurant called Terra.
The Gentlemen –
I settled on a glass of syrah to drink. Fun times on a Tuesday!
An amuse – a goat cheese + pistachio-encrusted grape with saffron honey!!!! Amazing!!
Gobbled down a few slices of bread..
Dipped in the finest..
I ordered a salad to start – endive with a stinky cheese (in a good way!) and the best candied pecans (walnuts?!). This was only half though, because they split it between Matt and me, but really he had ordered something else, so I ate his half too!
The main event was this INCREDIBLE (!!) fish – something along the lines of red snapper, methinks, with a bunch of flavors over a goat cheese stuffed swiss chard leaf.
Matt and I shared!!
Wish I’d taken more photos of the Hangrys and HTPs but since we biked there, I was cameraless and borrowed Caitlin‘s nice equipment for the project
We stayed out too late and I’m sure I’ll be zonked for breakfast. But it was worth the fun! For the 2.7 mile ride home, we navigated the back roads of some gorgeous McMansions in Charlotte and avoided the rubbled sidewalk. It was like biking after dark as a kid again and was so much fun. Thank goodness for bike lights (and don’t worry – we practiced good bike safety!)
Goodnight!

So perfect and in-the-moment.

I think you are missing a couple of people in your group.. ahem…

What a fun night! I’m SET on purchasing a bike this year. I need to save a little $$.
What a fun night you had! I used to love biking into town in the evening for dinner…..can’t do that now from the country. Dinner looked delicious.
Glad your presentation went well
What a fun dinner! Grapes + cheese are always a good thing.
Last week I had a big presentation and was too nervous beforehand to really eat a normal lunch. As the presentation/questions wrapped up and I knew I was a-okay, my tummy made a loud “rrrwaaaaaaahhh” sound right as the room went silent. Simple (embarrassing) sign that the stress was gone!
I said this on HTP, but it’s weird seeing exactly the same pictures again! I hope you’re having fun with them!
I love that first photo with Matt in the background. Cracked me up
Wei-Wei
i love the pic of you ladies with matt in the background!
sounds like a great evening!
good call on bike safety!
It’s great that now you live closer to each other!
Bike safety is really important, after my crash, I’m crazy careful while riding my bike
that fish dish looks AHMAYZING. seriously…i’m going to try to recreate soon!
That grape sounds like the best thing in the world!!
It must be awful that you guys are suddenly so close – then you’re moving!
Lovely looking meal, it sounds delicious
So fun that you are all in the same city right now! That 1/2 grape is really creative.
what kind of bike are you riding? I saw a pic on HTP..
A foldable Dahon
That amuse bouche looks amazing! Much nicer than the mussel and saffron soup I got at a restaurant recently, which tasted like nothing but butter (in a bad way). Hurrah for blogger meet-ups!
your camera takes great photos!
What an awesome night, so funny all you ladies being in the same place at the same time like that!
That looks like such a wonderful time. How fun!
Matt was funny in these pictures – being a total cheese. I’m glad you have a husband that makes you laugh! It’s one of my favorite things about my husband, too.
Looks like a perfect weekday!
Wonderful eats. I’d be way too greedy over that super looking food to share.
How fortunate both you and Caitlin are to be so close. You share so much in common it
will bring some fun times.
I love how Matt managed to get himself in your girlie photo.
The food looks great and like you guys had a good time!
1. what a cute pic of the hubbies! 2. looks like a great night! i think sometimes i’m too focused on getting to bed early enough to wake up @ 6:30 & have those 8 hours of sleep, but every one in awhile I need to remember to live and enjoy the moment. otherwise i’m just living to sleep! haha
Wow what a busy day you had. Pretty soon it’s vacation time.
PEACH! Best summer fruit ever. That’s so cool! I love living in the middle of nowhere, but sometimes I think it would be cool to just be able to ride my bike everywhere. And it sure would save a bunch of gas money!
What a fun night with great people (all whom I have not met, but can only imagine!). You are so lucky to give in a walking/biking friendly city. I’m sure you will be hanging with Caitlin and her hubby a lot – so fun!
I pass Terra all the time and always wonder about it. Definitely putting it on my “must try” list for Charlotte restaurants.
I love biking after dark. There’s a certain peacefulness, especially if you have some nice, not-so-traveled roads. It’s also great in the summer since it cools down and there’s no harsh sun. Sounds like a lovely evening of food, friends, and active transportation — perfect!
That fish sounds SO delicious. What a great idea. Goat cheese + chard + fish. YUM
It’s so cool that blogger families are so close! Especially the guys! I hope I can get that close to other bloggers!
