How many times have you heard that phrase this morning? For me, three (radio is on). I laugh every time!
Love strawberries this time of year!! I am hoping to pick-your-own this weekend or next week. I can’t miss it this year! I want to make a strawberry pie! I made one in 2002 after strawberry picking – my first pie ever – and it was delicious!
The strawberries were featured over a bowl of yogurt with banana, Oh’s and Cville Cluster.
Crunch, slurp!
Today is FIRST Friday and Fridays After Five and Brews with a View at Second Street Gallery! A big night ahead! It better not rain…

have a wonderful friday, kath!
hope you can go and pick burrries soon!
Yum! I can’t wait to pick-your-own strawberries this season! I live in IL and I don’t think they’ll be ready until the end of the month, but I can’t wait! I’ll likely end up going overboard and buy 15 pounds, but so worth it
Have a great 4th!
It took a me a few minutes to realize that phrase is likely a star wars reference – I’m slow this morning!
it took me WAY too long to get that phrase…
I have never made a strawberry pie, or even a pie for that matter. My husband would really like it if I learn how to make a pie.
By the looks of the sky, I think that rain is in the forecast. That is okay, though, because we had a gorgeous day yesterday. But I wish we would have more consecutively sunny days in a row.

we have been strawberry picking for a couple weeks now and did again yeterday. Love having fresh strawberries on my cereal! can’t wait for blueberry picking in a month or so!
I picked my own strawbs last year! It was so fun, Hubby even helped. I’m down to my last few in the freezer and am looking forward to replenshing my stock.
Ooh, that Cville Cluster looks amazing, I could go for some right now!
Great breakfast! That reminds me…I’m hungry!
It’s pouring in Atlanta this morning and my son is supposed to have 8th grade day outside all afternoon. I’m hoping the sun makes an appearance soon! Enjoy your day Kath!
The strawberries really have been great. I want to go strawberry picking and select my own. I always say I’m going to do this but never do!
Morning Kath, so glad Karen felt a kick! Felt Jess’ baby kick for the first time yesterday. We went out to a Thai/sushi place last night and had an interesting conversation about raw fish and pregnancy; any thoughts?
Fun!
I would not eat raw fish because you don’t have to – you can have sushi with the cooked kind. That said, if I went to an Asian country right now, I might try it. But not here in the USA unless it’s a REALLY reputable restaurant.
Thanks! My sentiments exactly. She ordered a cooked roll (teriyaki shrimp) and we all breathed a sigh of relief
The restaurant is owned by a Top Chef, PM, and I think the chef’s name is Arnold Mint.
Oooh – any recommendations as to places where you can pick in NC?? I would love to do that!
I don’t remember the name, but it was in Mooresville
Awesome, thanks
Whitted Bowers in Cedar Grove! http://www.whittedbowersfarm.com/Site/Welcome.html
Thanks!
We’re coming to C’ville tonight, I’m really hoping it doesn’t rain!!
Welcome!
Love your linens! Where do you get them? Just anywhere? I was thinking I would go to a Goodwill…
Anywhere. This was my grandmother’s! Target has good tea towels too
I looked at Target, but only in their placemat section- tea towels is a better bet! Thanks.
Tea towels are where it’s at!
That’s funny – I made my first pie in 2002 too! Mine was blackberry. There’s even a pic of me with it. Little did I know it would turn into a cooking obsession.
Sounds like a big day — so awesome to live in such an active community! Beautiful breakfast is making me hungry!!! Have a great time tonight
Kath, I’m sending this post to my husband. He thinks “May the 4th Be With You” is funny, too. I think I heard him say it several times this morning before he left for work.
The strawberries in your cereal bowl look delicious! Have a lovely day…and May the 4th be with you!
I am almost out of my homemade freezer strawberry jam…can’t wait for strawberry season too! Never made a strawberry pie…I will have to try that! Thanks for the idea! Speaking of rain…we had the most gianormous thunderstorm last night…thunder lightening and teaming rain. Woke up this morning to a thick fog and humidity…it’s like mother nature just turned on summer time! Believe me…I am not complaining!
I’m dying to get some strawberries at the market this weekend! Yours look delicious. As for the whole 4th-be-with-you thing, I think I’ve heard it at least 5 times this morning. Have a great day Kath!
Strawberries are the BEST!!! I love having them with breakfast!
Today is my son’s second birthday. He was “this close” to being named Jedi or Obi Wan, but we came to our senses
Sounds like you have a fun friday ahead! So far I’m only at 2. If I was at work today, I’m pretty sure that’s ALL I would hear..
Ha ha, I had to give in to the whole “May the 4th be with you as well.” I’ve never made a strawberry pie before, but it sounds delicious. Maybe a strawberry-rhubarb combo is in my future….A very happy Friday to you!
I can’t believe it’s Fridays After Five time of year…where did this past year go? It flew by!
Very clever title to this post. I don’t see how you come up with them again and again!
I just heard it on the radio! Not original!
I love fresh strawberries this time of year! Nothing better!
What are cville clusters?
Granola from our bakery
Hey Kath! How do I get a hold of this Cville (Charlottesville?) Clusters. I googled it earlier today but didn’t find it. Is this just something y’all sell in your Bakery or can we buy it online? I would LOVE to try it! Cindy
Yeah, it’s a granola we make at the bakery. We have sold them online via OpenSky at times, but it’s not something we can have on sale full time
i heard this so many times on the radio as well today! until they actually said “may the 4th be with you”, i had no idea why people were calling today star wars day. all makes sense now!
berries are so delicious right now!!!
happy Friday!
What’s Brews with a View? I was planning on having dinner downtown and would love a beer before hand.
It’s at Second Street Gallery. $10 to get in and music and beer on the rooftop. GH is sponsoring with rolls + spreads!
Oh those strawbs look amazing!! I love ‘em this time too
I am still not sure what makes your breakfasts post my favorite but they are!
The London Olympics site was the first of many today where I heard it – clever
Ooo I love that strawberries are in season, and believe it or I have never baked a strawberry pie! they always look so temping, I really to to
