May The 4th Be With You

IMG_0057

How many times have you heard that phrase this morning? For me, three (radio is on). I laugh every time!

Love strawberries this time of year!! I am hoping to pick-your-own this weekend or next week. I can’t miss it this year! I want to make a strawberry pie! I made one in 2002 after strawberry picking – my first pie ever – and it was delicious!

IMG_0053

The strawberries were featured over a bowl of yogurt with banana, Oh’s and Cville Cluster.

Crunch, slurp!

Today is FIRST Friday and Fridays After Five and Brews with a View at Second Street Gallery! A big night ahead! It better not rain…

Yum! I can’t wait to pick-your-own strawberries this season! I live in IL and I don’t think they’ll be ready until the end of the month, but I can’t wait! I’ll likely end up going overboard and buy 15 pounds, but so worth it 🙂 Have a great 4th!

I have never made a strawberry pie, or even a pie for that matter. My husband would really like it if I learn how to make a pie.

By the looks of the sky, I think that rain is in the forecast. That is okay, though, because we had a gorgeous day yesterday. But I wish we would have more consecutively sunny days in a row.

Morning Kath, so glad Karen felt a kick! Felt Jess’ baby kick for the first time yesterday. We went out to a Thai/sushi place last night and had an interesting conversation about raw fish and pregnancy; any thoughts?

      Fun!

I would not eat raw fish because you don’t have to – you can have sushi with the cooked kind. That said, if I went to an Asian country right now, I might try it. But not here in the USA unless it’s a REALLY reputable restaurant.

Thanks! My sentiments exactly. She ordered a cooked roll (teriyaki shrimp) and we all breathed a sigh of relief 🙂 The restaurant is owned by a Top Chef, PM, and I think the chef’s name is Arnold Mint.

I am almost out of my homemade freezer strawberry jam…can’t wait for strawberry season too! Never made a strawberry pie…I will have to try that! Thanks for the idea! Speaking of rain…we had the most gianormous thunderstorm last night…thunder lightening and teaming rain. Woke up this morning to a thick fog and humidity…it’s like mother nature just turned on summer time! Believe me…I am not complaining!
