A Visit With Gram

August 21, 2013

Mazen, Mom and I drove up to Baltimore to visit my grandmother and family last week. I didn’t take nearly enough pictures!

Here we were back in November when M was just 2 months old

Things have changed a lot since then! Mazen showed off all of his skills for Gram, including crawling about, standing, assisted walking, talking (“night night!”), waving, eating and clapping.

This strap-on high chair was a shower gift from a family friend and was so great to bring with us. M kept us all entertained during meals.

He loved playing with this Twinnings truck

Unfortunately the dog’s bowls were also a good source of entertainment.

He had a blast exploring new nooks and crannies after bath time

We adults loved the smoked salmon my grandmother served

Along with a yummy breakfast and lunch in the bistro

But the highlight of the visit was this early birthday cake Gram got for Mazen! We were frosting happy the whole time. Just 3 weeks till he’s one!

We gave our love to Uncle Mel and Aunt Betty.

On our drive back to Cville, sweet M fell asleep with a cracker in his hand. When he woke up he just kept eating it! Ha!

Aw visiting with family is always so much fun! I can’t wait until I have kids of my own and get to show them off :) PS is it sad that I could totally see myself falling asleep with food and waking up only to continue eating it? haha anyways very cute pics, M is getting so big!

Awe, those are such great pictures! I love the cracker in his hand. =) Enjoy these last few weeks til he turns ONE!! It was an emotional time for me and the best advice I got was to celebrate, celebrate, celebrate to get through it. Happy time, indeed.

Looks like fun! I have one grandparent still living, and I know she LOVES when we come visit with our baby/toddler. Says it keeps her young. ;-)

Love that cracker pic! What kind of crackers do you give Mazen? Penny is 13 months and I am still giving her Mum-mums but I’d like to mix it up. She has a lot of teeth but I still want to give her something that dissolves a bit, as it looks like what Mazen’s got a hold of might. thanks!

It is so sweet how kids can and do fall asleep anywhere and everywhere. If only the rest of us could be so lucky.

This was a great post. I love when my kids keep on eating their crackers in their hands in the car after a nap. You have such a great family. I love the pics.

The pictures of you with your mother and grandmother are so sweet! Capturing four generations in one photograph is so neat. All of the food looks great, especially that cake! The last picture of Mazen is too funny as is the fact that he woke up and went right back to eating. I would too! ;)
