A Taste Of Everything

November 23, 2011

We had a lot to celebrate tonight!! Today was one of the most exciting days of our lives! Sales were incredible, and we now have four days off to relax and enjoy.

We finished up at Great Harvest and headed home to quickly change and walk to Seamane and Rob’s for a Thanksgiving Eve get-together.

We nibbled on cheeses and crackers and lots of baby carrots and cherry tomatoes and dips for dinner

And deviled eggs!

And pretty much married their bar ;)

S+R know how to stock one! I had a ton of variety tonight, but small sips of each.

Full Sail Session Fest [loved it, especially with brie!]

Champagne and cherry

Dogfish Chocolate Vodka!? Just a sip – not a vodka girl, but interesting nonetheless.

But I AM a bourbon girl!

A tiny Manhattan

We tasted a few of Rob’s favorites – Green Flash Hop Head Red and Stoudt’s Double IPA.

But I still bow to the Dogfish 90

Ended the night with a small pour of this really awesome red – Seventy Five Wine Company’s “The Sum” Red Blend that a friend brought to the party. I really don’t have a favorite grape – I couldn’t choose! But I <3 red blends, and this hit the spot!

Matt and I brought a box of Great Harvest sweets from the store – which I devoured at the end of the night with a couple of Seamane’s version of Better-Than-Crack brownies. They really are..

I love the name Seamane…very cool.

And I love that they keep a well-stocked bar and she made better than crack brownies. I wish I had a party like that to go to tonight :)

Chocolate Vodka??? Sounds oddly good. Man, I would have been hammered if I went to that party. Such a great bar going on there.

Congrats to the awesome sales and the well deserved 4 days off.

So wait, the bakery is closed Friday & Saturday? Wow. We are small business owners and we are only off today. We don’t open early tomorrow morning, but we are open regular hours. We are also open extra hours on Saturday since it’s been labeled “Small Business Saturday”. Your missing out on two great days of sales..

23 Hillary November 24, 2011 at 7:55 am

28 Karen November 24, 2011 at 11:46 am

Did you know that Oprah listed Frog Hollow’s pears on her “favorite things” list this year?! When I saw that I caved in ordered a few boxes for gift giving plus one for us. So excited for their arrival!

All the best to you and Matt and your families this Thanksgiving, Kath. Thank you for providing three doses of fun each day :)

29 Sam November 24, 2011 at 11:50 am

Sorry. I totally laughed at what Kath said. Cville is really pro family so there are lots of small businesses that are closed for a few days so people can enjoy the time off. It is *her* business after all & I respect the decision to be closed for some rest time.

Have a great holiday with your fam Kath & do not overdo it on the pumpkin ohs like I have :)

30 Katie @ Peace Love and Oats November 24, 2011 at 12:13 pm

Congratulations on doing so well at the store, and enjoy these four days off! Happy Thanksgiving!

32 KathEats November 24, 2011 at 2:14 pm
