Family of 2.75 up and at ‘em!
I had a quick bowl of cereal – Whole Foods brand frosted mini wheats – with blueberries, banana, PB and milk
And then we headed to the market where we picked up pounds and pounds of potatoes, 25 ears of corn and a whole lotta local Rock Barn kielbasa for our party tonight! [As Conan would say, “Early morning sausage party!!”]
We said our hellos to Ellen at the GH tent!
It took the two of us loaded back and front to walk home with the loot – and flowers in hand!
We are VERY lucky to still have power this morning. Late last night our power flickered on and off several times and had me shaking in my PJs that we were going to lose the AC overnight! Thankfully we still have it, but it seems the other half of town is out from the buzz at the market.
I was planning to swim today, but I have a lot to do and plus that walk to and from the market wore me out! I’m also very pleased to say my upper body is sore from lifting weights yesterday – meaning I must have done something right!
Party prep continues!

party hearty!
i love the “family of 2.75″ – too cute! glad you didn’t lose power! that would be miserable right now i’m sure with the crazy heat.
When I read the part where you said “Or as Conan would say…” I got a little thrown. I was like, Kath knows my husband? Huh? How? Then it clicked you probably meant Conan O’brian, not the man I married
Haha indeed
That storm last night was insane!!! There were trees and powerlines down everywhere here
That looks like a lovely farmer’s market morning!
PS I had overnight oats for the first time yesterday morning – wow!! I can’t see getting sick of those anytime soon!!!
have a great Saturday, Kath!
Down in Georgia with 102 degree heat our power went off for the whole evening! It was like an oven!!
I feel like I’ve been gone for ages! Your belly definitely hit a growth spurt this week – you look amazing!
That bread sounds soo perfectly crunchy and yummy… it begs to be slathered in butter. Mmmm
I thought that you should know that there was a Great Harvest run this week at work. One coworker picked up the star spangled bread for a bunch of us! Cardiac rehab never tasted so good!
You had quite the haul this morning- including carrying around the “.75″ of the family. Week 32 was a brick wall for me-everything became 1,000 times harder; instantly….. Those flowers brightened my day- even through the screen. Beautiful!
Happy Saturday family of 2.75!
just wondering…do you guys have a car?
I just recently started a dabble of nut butter here and there with cereal. I am loving it
Good luck with the party and really hope your power holds out..nothing like being hot, pregnant, and with a party to throw that it would decide to go on the fritz…ugh!
Enjoy your party!!
Wow, that sounds like quite a party you’ve got later tonight!! Good luck with the party preparations!
Sounds like it will be a delicious party! I hope you get some time to relax before the fun begins.
Have fun!
Our power went out sometime in the night and came back on too! I woke to my clock flashing and had to grab my watch to check the time! Dinner sounds delish with all your market finds…those flowers are beautiful!
Ha. “Family of 2.75″ is too cute
Enjoy the party tonight!
Lovely flowers!

Hey Kath,
I find that cereal doesn’t fill me up as much as oatmeal or vegan overnight oats.
What do you add to your cereal to get it to be more filling? (I don’t drink milk and I usually have almond milk in the house which doesn’t have as much protein as milk or soy). I also find that I eat it fast (10 minutes) compared to when I eat oats (20-25 min).
Thanks! Hope you’re having a great weekend
I add a little fat and definitely the milk protein – fat + protein + whole grains make the best combo for me.

Hi Miss Kath,
i haven’t been to your website in soo long. But nothing has changed; you are still amazing. I always love your pictures and food, and everything. Such beauty..
