Visiting Friend + Heat That’s Here To Stay

It’s a scorcher folks!

image

Just got back from a walk with CHELSEA! Oops. We didn’t realize it was dangerously hot. We wore sunglasses and I had a hat and we carried cool water with it. It really isn’t that bad out there except for all the sweat I came back with!

Chelsea is visiting from Boise – here for work again. Read about our past internet-friends-brought-to-life encounters here and here and here and here!

IMG_3396 (427x640)

This time she came to the bakery to see it in action and I fed her a gluten-free sandwich (meaning a sandwich minus bread plus a fork!)

I had lunch after I arrived to work post-Body Pump. Today we have a special sandwich!!

IMG_3393 (640x427)

Smoked salmon, dilled cream cheese, romaine, tomato, cucumber (on High Five!) DELICIOUS!!

IMG_3392 (640x427)

I hope it stays on the menu!

Side of H2Omelon

IMG_3390 (640x427)

IMG_3386 (427x640)

Dessert = 2 hunks of Savannah bar

Going to hang out in the walkin cooler!

lol – I was going to ask “you sell GF bread”?! – and then I read the next sentence – cute 😉

It is hot! – too hot and takes the energy out of me. How do you like eating at the bakery versus home now?

I would LOVE that sandwich. Your menu is so creative! It looks fantastic!

I need to cool off, as well. I’m in a building with AC, but it’s still 76* in here – which feels sticky and stuffy – Ugh!

    1. I love your shirt.

    2. I wish I liked smoked salmon. I’ve actually never tried it but it just skeeves me out for some reason – which makes me sad cause it always looks so good.

    3. I REALLY wish I had 2 hunks of savannah bar to snack on right now!

    4. I worked in a bakery during college for a little and I remember loving the walk-in cooler. I found myself making lots of excuses on hot days to go in there 😉

The heat index here was 120 yesterday and should match that today. I did all of my exercise EARLY this morning before the sun came up.

Looks like the heat left the west coast (because it’s cooler than normal here in SoCal) and headed your way. Hope you find a pool or your gym has a pool to cool yourself in 🙂

your lunch looks great! i would definitely order that sandwich.
your talk of the walk-in cooler reminds me of a camp i worked at last summer (i grew up going to it). it’s held at fall creek falls state park (= no air conditioning anywhere), and us counselors would close ourselves up in there until we finally stopped sweating. once, one of the ladies who helped put together lunch opened the door, and there were about 5 of us in there haha
