I Love Lucy

Jenna and I headed out in search of coffee in the charming town of Healdsburg. I want to move in with her πŸ™‚

IMG_8371 (640x427)

We made a bee-line for Flying Goat Coffee.

IMG_8373 (640x427)

IMG_8374 (640x427)

So chic!

IMG_8377 (640x427)

I got the usual – Cafe au Lait.

IMG_8379 (640x427)

It was incredible. So rich and not too roasty. Way better than the cup of Blue Bottle coffee I had at the Ferry Building

IMG_8381 (640x427)

J and I did some sightseeing

IMG_8390 (640x427)

I think we are a little obsessed with our cameras

IMG_8391 (640x427)

IMG_8383 (640x427)

IMG_8389 (640x427)

IMG_8393 (640x427)

We headed by after a quick loop around the square because I had a bus to catch!!

After a little panic and hunting to find it, we finally did, and I was on my way.

IMG_8397 (640x427)

IMG_8399 (640x427)

The FREE WIFI made the 2 hour trip a blast. But I do not recommend using a bus bathroom…

IMG_8396 (640x427)

I was dropped off at the airport where Shaun, Chelsea‘s husband, picked me up and took me to meet the girls.

IMG_8418 (640x427)

Chelsea and I have been internet friends for almost four years now! I actually first met her in person on my honeymoon and then again last year when I was here for BlogHer and she was very pregnant with Lucy, who arrived a year ago.

Chelseapreg

Chelsea lives in San Mateo and we headed downtown on foot for a ladies lunch.

IMG_8401 (640x427)

I had a small slice of bread + buttah, which tasted like a donut!! Could have eaten the whole bowl

IMG_8404 (640x427)

For lunch I ordered the Butter Lettuce Salad with Blue Cheese, Apple, Gorgonzola, Pumpkin Seeds, and Grapes.

IMG_8406 (640x427)

Chelsea got the beet salad –

IMG_8408 (640x427)

For lunch we split the Smoked Salmon Pizza with Meyer Lemon Creme Fraiche, Thinly Sliced Potatoes and Capers

IMG_8410 (640x427)

I had two slices and the salmon topping + crust of two slices. LURVE smoked salmon!

IMG_8412 (640x427)

Then we picked up the kiddo and went out for a mom walk!! How do I look!?

IMG_8416 (640x427)

Then it was playitme

IMG_8422 (640x427) IMG_8423 (640x427) IMG_8425 (640x427) IMG_8435 (640x427) IMG_8437 (640x427) IMG_8438 (640x427) IMG_8439 (640x427) IMG_8440 (640x427) IMG_8442 (640x427) IMG_8445 (640x427)

When we got home at 4PM I had my first persimmon!!!!

IMG_8452 (640x427)

And a few Dr. Crackers with PB + PB (pumpkin butter!)

IMG_8460 (640x427)

OMG – I have a new favorite fruit!!! Persimmon = banana + mango + apple.

IMG_8464 (640x427)

We are gearing up to head into the city for a KERF Blog Dinner. The last hurrah of this wonderful trip!

I honestly don’t know what to say about that amazing looking pizza. I’ll try though: The combination of ingredients is mind blowing. I mean, taking three individually yummy gourmet foods and placing them on pizza dough is sheer culinary mastermind.

Glad you enjoyed your first persimmon! My mom has a tree in her yard and is never without persimmon cookies in the fall. Delish!

Ha I just got on the persimmion bandwagon too. Your explanation of the taste is spot on BUT readers beware (I blogged about this the other day) you have to make sure you get the firm, sorta squat fuyu variety…the squishy cone-ish shaped hayacha (or something) is nasty and bitter when eaten raw and is more used for cooking. Just a warning! The fuyus are delicious though…I got them in my CSA so I had to give em a shot, and I’m glad I did!

Enjoy you last night in Cali, Kath!
