Triangles

IMG_1929

Late morning I met up with Faith and Rosie [a new friend who also happens to be pregnant!] for a Monticello Trail hike. Gosh I love that trail so much – it’s beautiful, shady, the perfect length and so refreshing to be a few miles from downtown and feel like you’re on a day-trip hike. I know when the baby comes I will think of all objections to take my car and the stroller out there – but I must make the effort for the beauty of nature!

Back at the fort, I assembled a great lunch. A salad made with greens, tomatoes, cucumbers and a hard-boiled egg – drizzled in last night’s homemade dressing and sea salt.

Plus a plate of triangles!

Leftover pizza slice and watermelon on its last leg.

I’m in between conference calls and a trip to the bakery! See you for dinner!

You’re only missing a triangular plate! The salad looks delicious–I find that sometimes that simple salads taste better than salads with 10 different things all thrown in! Though I do tend to overthrow when it comes to compiling my salads 🙂

Sounds like a fun morning! I’ve got 2 hikes scheduled for this weekend and I can’t wait. The scenery in the area we’re going to is gorgeous so I’m hoping to get some good photos. Your watermelon has just triggered an enormous craving over here! 🙂

I have to second this. Given that you do it three.times.a.day., you do a great job!

I, for one, think that post-naming sounds like the best part. But I can see how it can get tricky when you’ve posted for years and years.

Thanks! If I think of a good one, it’s lots of fun. But sometimes I’m totally stumped and want to just put “DINNER!”

THIRD this. I love your post titles! I especially love it when you do the humorous ones. I can’t think of any offhand, but some of them seriously make me LOL. But I totally get that “writers block” – not all can be funny. Keep it up!!

That pizza still looks so good! Was it better as a day after pizza, or first hand right out of the oven pizza? 🙂 I like both kinds!

Pizza sounds good, but unfortunately it is not on the dinner menu tonight.

I am making zucchini cakes, which I heard the recipe for, and have wanted to make. It is a great way to use up zucchini from the garden. All you have to do is: shred one zucchini — not sure what size zucchini to use — ; mix in two eggs, crushed crackers, parmesan cheese, garlic, salt, & pepper; form into little cakes; & fry them on the stove in butter or EVOO. Does that sound good? They are so yummy!
