Three Topping Circus

Getting up at 6 to workout is a world different than getting up at 5. It just seems to be a more relaxed and less-rushed hour. I joined the husband this morning since we haven’t worked out together in a long time (although we don’t really work out together – just smile at each other from across the room) but it’s still more fun. I did 50 minutes on the ET (had to finish my Shape before I could get off!) followed by a round of lifting – biceps, shoulders, push-ups, squats and 1 set of abs.

Today’s oatmeal was colorful and bursting with bright flavors –

The Combo:

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk, water, banana, pinch salt
  • 1/3 cup cottage cheese, folded into bowl at end
  • 2 tbsp cranberry sauce, heated and folded into bowl
  • Shaved coconut butter
  • A sprinkle of TJ’s Rainbow Trail Mix (including about 5 M&M look-alikes that were SO GOOD when they melted in my mouth!)
  • Small spoonful Barney Butter

A subtle chandelier coffee –

This bowl was totally filling and should last me well through the noon hour.

I am moving out of the house today for a big day of shopping –

  1. Wal-Mart for some grocery staples and toiletries (it’s kind of a drive to get to our Super Wal-Mart so I don’t go as often as I should for the low prices)
  2. EarthFare for produce
  3. Bed, Bath & Beyond + World Market for Christmas presents
  4. Sears to return a cord
  5. The Post Office to mail out my textbooks that I sold on Textbooks.com (great site for students!!)
  6. Costco with Karen this afternoon for a few things

My goal is to spend as little money as possible today!! It’s def. going to be a challenge.

Have a nice Monday folks 🙂

I love World Market! Oh my gosh – I walk in there and I want everything I see! I know it’s all probably mass-produced stuff but it’s just so darn cute!

    Have fun, Kath! 🙂

ah – that bowl of oatmeal is gorgeous. i want to make your cranberry sauce so badly – but no fresh cranberries here. only the canned jelly kinds which i just don’t think are going to cut it in the world of delicious, fresh, kath-inspired foods…

I, too, love TJ’s Rainbow Trail Mix! I had some with my breakfast this morning, too. I made a homemade lara bar with dried dates and the trail mix. It was delish!

Congrats on your awesome run this weekend! 🙂

I know what you mean about working out “together”-when my hubby would come to the gym with me, he would wink at me from across the room. Hehe

    have a great day!

So happy you got to workout with your hubby, even though you exchanged some smiles and peaks at what eachother is doing, it’s still time spent together!

The low prices at Wal Mart come at a high price to many other retailers (as well as their own suppliers), so you’re actually better shopping in the places you do…

Your oatmeal is gorgeous! Brave soul for going to Wal-mart…I avoid that place at all costs. We’re lucky to have the Meijer chain close by, same idea, better quality & variety, same prices. Plus, the man who started the chain is from the area my husband grew up, and he’s done a lot for the community in the way of donations.

    Kelsey ,
I haven’t been using smaller spoonfuls on a regular basis, but today I put a lot of ingredients in so felt that I didn’t need a huge spoonful too. That’s it.
