Thirstday

Matt and Nate have scheduled Thursday “man lunches” a few times now since Great Harvest is right on Matt’s way home around lunchtime and Kate was out of town. They like to proclaim it “Thirstday” and alternate between brews and Manhattans (although I don’t think they really drink as much as they hype it up).

IMG_3784 (1024x768)

This week, they decided to invite the “womenfolk” (probably since Kate was going to be home anyways because she’s back!) and Kelsey and I were invited over for burgers + sweet potato fries.

The brews were flowing.

IMG_3777 (1024x768) IMG_3783 (1024x768)

I had a total of about 4 gulps and could feel it immediately! Guess that’s why you don’t drink during the day.

IMG_3778 (1024x768) IMG_3790 (1024x768)

Seltzer was the female beverage of choice. (Kate, you slipped out of the photos! We’ll get one Sat.)

IMG_3779 (1024x768)

Grilled up

IMG_3780 (1024x768)

There was lots of scruff playing with Gilbert

IMG_3781 (1024x768) IMG_3786 (1024x768)

Kate is my SAVIOR for letting me try her Barney Butter. Ahhhhhhh……

IMG_3788 (1024x768)

The burgers were fabulous. On GH Rye Buns! With pickle, tomato, ketchup, mustard + lettuce.

IMG_3793 (1024x768)

IMG_3776 (1024x768)

Some fries

IMG_3792 (1024x768)

Kelsey’s tomato + cuc Caesar salad

IMG_3791 (1024x768)

And fruit for dessert, which I iced with BB!

Thanks for a great lunch guys!!

I’ve got some serious paper writing to do. I think Kanz is going to make me spaghetti for dinner. Nate may or may not be joining us while Kate goes to a baby shower dinner (whee!). Until then…

I love that you had a mid-week lunch party with friends! What a good idea. Sometimes I’ll picnic with my coworkers and it makes the work day go by so much faster!

I have totally been craving a burger lately. I might have to give in to the craving, although I’m wondering if a burger made from leaner ground beef would turn out. I probably have to go for the fatty stuff to make it good, huh?

    Julie ,
I call him Kanz 100% of the time. My family and friends also do, but our mutual friends and his family call him Matt, and his friends call him by his last name.

    Runeatrepeat ,
They were baked – but Kate made them so I don’t know the time. We usually do 30-40 minutes in our house.

    Making Love In The Kitchen,
I was wearing a sweater + a fleece for most of the day!

    Hallie ,
I think lean beef makes a pretty good burger. Or you could just have half a burger on a full size bun with toppings. Sometimes half is all you need to get the craving going.

    Jennifer ,
You should check http://www.BitesandBowls.com where she addresses her shape.

    Brooke ,
I don’t, but Kelsey might be able to tell you.

    susa + Heather ,
Windows Live Writer!! I couldn’t live without it.

    Kaley ,
    That would be Nate’s cup.

    Lyn ,
I think it’s in the works..
