The Stairmaster

Making progress! All day it’s been up and down and up and back down with things. It seems everything for the attic is in the basement. I carry something up and something else back down. Quite the leg workout this week! I couldn’t even imagine going for a run right now…

Still also playing with the furniture – not sure what I want up and down!

IMG_7078-2Blog

In love with these sneaky built-in shelves! I had plans to built shelves for my Ball jars, but they just fit too well right here I’m not sure I need more!

IMG_7076-2BlogIMG_7077Blog-2

I also love the gray wall in the dining room as a backdrop for food!

IMG_7081-2Blog

Our last dining room was SO dark and this one is nice and bright!

IMG_7085-2Blog

Leftover pasta from last night

IMG_7086-2Blog

Plus a spinach salad with peppers, tomatoes, honey peanuts and Drunken Goat!

IMG_7089-2Blog

Twins Alyssa and Julianne brought me some goodies from Philly this past weekend – an amazing fruit puree vinegar (it’s like a fruit juice + vinegar hybrid!) plus some cheeses – the Drunken Goat is made with wine – and chocolate with corn! Total foodie fun 🙂 Thanks girls – leave a comment please so I can get your email!

Tasty Emily / Kim cookie to end sweet!

 IMG_7090-2Blog

I perked up this afternoon – not even tired for a nap. But hopefully I can sleep well tonight.

The shelves are very cute, we used to have some in our old apartment and I liked them very much! The good thing when moving is the decorating part, like a fresh start, a new page in your life 🙂

    wow!! you have made progress

it’s funny that you mentioned the shelves with the ball jars.. I noticed them in the pic of Matt in the kitchen & was going to ask if they were built ins or if it was a shelf that you brought along.

I was going to wait until you were less busy 😉

I ended up (before I read this post) clearing off one of my smaller bookshelves today & pulling out all of my grain/bean filled ball jars & put them on the bookshelf in the kitchen. i think that I really like it

( I keep walking in & out of the kitchen just to be sure 😉

now I need to figure out what to do with all of the cookbooks…..

    congratulations on the house!

Jealous of those built-in shelves. If you’re looking to cut down on furniture upstairs, I’d stick with the sofa & the 2 green chairs up there, and move the 2 black & white ones down… While they’re all beautiful (of course), if you only had the black & whites in the room with the sofa, it might seem too matchy. The bright greens really pop in that sunny room…

I agree with most of the comments here. I like the built-in shelves too. It’s a nice idea to place it at the side of the gas range. Very accessible. Like it so much!

DeBruno Brothers! What a wonderful shop! They have amazing cheeses – and are VERY knowledgeable/friendly/helpful! Will have to try the drunken goat next time! We had a blue and cheddar last time and they were divine!

Love the shelves, perfect for jars. They are also the perfect height for kids who like to help in the kitchen, I know my kids would love them. I can see your little KERF kids helping you in the kitchen, the jars may just be replaced with toys until they are at the helping age! Have fun in your new kitchen and the rest of the house. I’m off to measure an area in our kitchen that I have actually been wondering if I can build some sort of shelves or rack for jars or cookbooks. Thanks for the inspiration!
