Screwdriver

I wish you could see how much work I did today moving in. Incredible progress!! Fueled by a few handfuls of Puffins for a snack! The entire guest room is painted and complete…sneak peak!!

IMG_7119-2Blog

I moved one of the big armchairs out of the living room and am now in love with the feel. Much less cluttered. I feel that we have optimal lamp placement too. Now we just need art + curtains and in time, some built in shelves or big cabinets to go on the back wall – for bowl storage!

Sweet Eileen came over to visit and brought me some housewarming flowers! I love the green stems : ) Thanks Eileen!

I had no idea what I was going to make for dinner at 7pm.

And then this happened:

IMG_7103-2Blog

A skillet of black beans, peppers (a gift from Karen’s friend Tracy’s garden!), spinach (a random grocery stop pickup), frozen corn plus cumin, chili powder, a dash of cinnamon, a dash of cocoa powder and salt.

IMG_7108-2Blog

On the side – coconut millet (millet cooked on the stove top for 20 minutes with 1 tbsp coconut oil (coconut butter is even better!) plus coconut flakes – and a slice of toasty cheddar garlic!

IMG_7110-2Blog

Romantic evening for two – we started with a half glass of our leftover wine for an appetizer!

IMG_7115-2Blog

This evening Matt and I did everything from hanging our knife rack to putting together beds to putting back about 26 of these switch and plug plates:

Not sure who is more tired, me or the screwdriver!

Working on a house takes it out of a person but I do have to admit that having it done will be a HUGE weight lifted off your shoulders! ….Our house is a work in progress and it is a bummer to see stuff half done for prolonged periods of time…

That was the first thing we did in our new place! The ones here had all been painted over to match the wall colors, and they were a mess. It’s amazing how adding a clean, white switchplate makes such a difference in a room.
