Cottage Living

Other than the fact that I slept poorly due to mucho excitement, it’s a beautiful day here in the new cottage!

IMG_7067-2Blog

Our mattress felt tilted all night (we have some wood blocks to help keep a sagging bed board up and I think they were not put back quite right) and I woke up at 5:26 ready to start the day despite being sleepy. The worse thing about insomnia to me is that my bed gets so uncomfortable. It’s like I just have to get out of it. Perhaps yesterday’s coffee was to blame too?

I’m not a napper, but maybe I will take one today…

Upon hopping out of bed I noticed that my surgery foot is SOOO sore and my legs really do feel the same that they did after my half mary last year. I had to hobble to the basement and dig behind lamps and kegs to find our box labeled “medicine cabinet” and was lucky that the ibuprofen was on top.

IMG_7068-2Blog

Breakfast was SO fun in my new kitchen! I am already so in love with this house!!

IMG_7072-2Blog

I had Siggi’s Peach (prefer plain flavor though) topped with frozen blackberries that I thawed out, a big portion of a Blueberry Oat muffin that Matt brought home last night, and the best sunflower butter eva.

IMG_7070-2BlogIMG_7065-2Blog

My black teas are unpacked!

IMG_7074-2BlogIMG_7069-2Blog

I’m SO excited to get moving! If unpacking were a pie chart, the biggest piece would be the kitchen and all the breakables that go with it. The rest of the house is much, much easier! Just gotta move all kinds of stuff around.

Have a great one!

Ah I’m so glad you love your new place!

Also? I fully support that nap – sometimes even just a quick one can make a HUGE difference. The only problem is when you get to be a really GOOD napper and you nap too long – then you wake up feeling groggy. It’s the WORST.

We were on the same breakfast wavelength today – replace that blueberry muffin with Cville Cluster and you’ve got my breakfast 🙂

i just got the marathon brand tonight…. it doesn’t have any added sugar at all, just roasted sunflower seeds and a little sea salt. i’m still undecided on it but it’s gonna be a great pairing with something a little sweeter (fruits and stuff)

      Hey Caitlin,
The sugar amount is so small that it doesn’t bother me. I’ve tried a few of the very basic sunflower butters and don’t like them nearly as much

I just got home from high school. I rode the bus home and was walking home and saw a little OpenSky box on our front door! I immediately took it inside, opened it and had my first bit of Cville Cluster Granola. Oh em gee it is sooo good and i love the HUGE clusters!

I just checked if UPS delivered the OpenSky shipment…and it did! Now, I just have to wait a little bit before I can go home and eat them! Thank you for your hard work! 🙂

SO happy to hear you are in love with your new house! <3

For some reason coffee doesn't seem to hit me until the middle of the night! I always end up waking up anxious and unrested. This is why I avoid it, sadly. I love iced coffee but I have to be 100% committed to knowing I will feel super antsy!

Siggi's PEACH!? Is this a new flavor?? I don;t think I have seen this flavor. I adore Siggi's… it is expensive but it has the most divine texture 😀

I couldn’t sleep last night either. There must be something in the air! 😛

I think you should show us how you pack all those breakable kitchen bowls, jars, etc. Do you wash them after you move? Details!

I wrapped them all in packing paper and stacked them into boxes and then I moved them very carefully.

Read the moving day post for washing details!

Siggi’s is so good! 🙂 I wish I could find it around here. It is a special occasion when I can get my hands on one!
