The Pumpkin Tree

Have you ever seen a tree that meows?

IMG_4882Blog

And purrs?

IMG_4885Blog

Looks like I have my very own Pumpkin tree now!

Amazing bowl of oats this morning

IMG_4889Blog

Oatmeal made with milk, water, banana, and chia seeds with 1/3 cup low-fat organic cottage cheese  and 1/3 cup fresh blueberries stirred in at end. Took me right back to summer berry oats!

Almond butter and Ellwood Thompson granola on top (a Richmond store brought to me via my friend Elly!)

IMG_4894Blog

And on the side – a big mug of coffee!!!! French pressed to perfection. NYC brought back my love for the good stuff.

IMG_4893Blog

I my tree produces some great orange pumpkins soon!

You have some very cute wildlife there Kath! And on the cottage cheese note, I can’t seem to get enough of it lately! Couldn’t stand it when I was little, but it’s my go-to snack right now…. I might even say I like it more than Greek yogurt!Gorgeous oats as always. 🙂

Coffee and oatmeal, I love the combo. Who am I kidding, I love coffee with anything, but always the good stuff. Mine has to be dark and rich with just a little vanilla soy creamer. YUM.

That is such a great pic of the kitten in the tree! We had a kitten growing up that got chased so far up a tree she got stuck… it was a giant pine tree, so tall a ladder wouldn’t reach her We had to call a tree service to fetch her!

It doesn’t get much better than French press coffee! I feed my addiction daily with my little one that I keep at work.
I have the mixings for a dough boy smoothie sitting in my vitamix waiting for me in the fridge for when I get home. I didn’t want to experiment for breakfast on a work day, just in case. 🙂
I’m hoping to be well enough to do the new Bodypump launch today (it’s killllllller) and have the smoothie for a post-workout snack!

I have no idea how cats successfully get up into trees that far, and how they manage to get down – although with all the cliche firefighter-cat-up-a-tree-rescues, I guess maybe they’re not as successful at getting down as I’m guessing!

I’ve never tried cottage cheese in oats but I am intrigued. Does it make a more savory oat? Also anyone know a vegan alternate to cottage cheese?

It’s a tiny bit more savory, but with fruit it’s just as breakfast-y. I don’t know of a vegan alternative other than crumbled tofu – not sure I’d be brave enough to try that! Or perhaps a coconut or soy yogurt stirred in
