The Cold War

My cold is back!? However I feel fine it’s just more of a clogging issue today 😉

But it hasn’t prevented me from singing Glee songs at the top of my lungs this morning!

I used this morning as an opportunity for active rest. I had two hard workout days and a hard one planned tomorrow so I did the bare minimum to stretch my legs and get a little movement into my day without tiring myself out.

35 minutes on the elliptical + yoga stretches

Came home and dove spoon-first into this awesome bowl of oats!! My appetite was voracious this morning!

IMG_6746 (640x427)

IMG_6752 (640x427)

I used the last of my Scottish oats 🙁 Will have to find more of these soon!

IMG_6742 (640x427)

IMG_6748 (640x427)

The Mix:

  • 1/3 cup Scottish oats (1.5 servings)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vanilla soy milk
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 banana
  • Pinch salt
  • Vanilla
  • 1/5th crumbled Banana Almond Muffin
  • Coconut
  • TJ’s PB + an extra small spoonful!

IMG_6753 (640x427)

Best friends.

IMG_6758 (640x427)

This is your brain on coffee.

IMG_6760 (640x427)

IMG_6744 (640x427)

I’m going to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Child Nutrition office this morning and then to the SouthEast Health Dept for lunch and the afternoon and out to dinner tonight with my bestest friends to celebrate Emily‘s b-day!

When you put coconut on your oats, are they sweetened or toasted or heated or anything? I find that when I put some on my overnight oats I could barely taste them. D:

We order our steely oats from Amazon – bulk oats + free shipping = happiness. You don’t get so many oats that you don’t know where to put them (trust me – we have a very tiny apartment kitchen) but it’s nice to have a big supply if you eat oats every morning. Plus, from what I can tell, the price really is comparable/maybe better?

Hello! After I first episode, I didn’t watch Glee when it was on TV because I worried about my kids seeing parts of it. However, a few weekends ago I had my house to myself and did the whole Glee marathon. It was so fun! I would highly recommend watching them all in a row. Can’t wait for next season to start!
