2 Fer 2

Wheee! I had a great day!

Wrapped up some good work at the office and never got hungry for a snack. As much as I love snacks, I do like the days when my meals do the trick.

I came home to Matt and let him rest while I took over dinner tonight. I had a fun new recipe to try!

IMG_6714 (640x427)

Angela‘s In A Jiffy Spelt Veggie Burgers!

Veggies into the food processor (I omitted onion and added ‘shrooms)

IMG_6698 (640x427)

I don’t use my food processor enough – because I hate cleaning it! But I’ve started just using my dishwasher!!! A miracle. You see, I don’t like using the dishwasher because then we have to run it! We only run it every few days so we try to pack it full before we do and the food processor takes up so much space for one dish!!

Enough of that nonsense!

Chop away!

IMG_6699 (640x427)

Can’t do this buy hand!

IMG_6700 (640x427)

Added the seeds and flour (didn’t have spelt so used whole wheat)

IMG_6705 (640x427)

Ready to go!

[I halved the recipe and made some ballz to go with the patties]

IMG_6706 (640x427)

After the production I had:

  1. A dirty Cuisinart
  2. A can of chickpeas minus half a cup

DUH – make hummus!!!!!!! Another recipe I’ve been saving: Ashley‘s Curry Honey Hummus!!

GENIUS!!! This was sooooooo good. Sweet from honey. Spiced up. Rockin’ good. Way to go Ash! (Wish I had the time and sunlight to photograph it as pretty as she did!)

IMG_6708 (640x427)

Dinna –

IMG_6721 (640x427)

Two Fer Two. Both of these recipes were awesome!

IMG_6716 (640x427)

Also on the production line: acorn squash with coconut butter HEAB style.

IMG_6718 (640x427)

[NOTE TO SELF: Acorn squash season is O.V.E.R.]

And KALE CHIPS! With ketchup.

IMG_6730 (640x427)

Food tastes so good!

IMG_6737 (640x427)

IMG_6715 (640x427)

You know what also rocks? Zac Brown Band. I listened to their CD "Foundation" on Grooveshark while I cooked. Best thing to hit music since Brad Paisley.

We also watched Glee Episode 2. Loved this one!! Can tell I’m going to be hooked. The ending song – Take A Bow – was amazing.

I let my food processor sit brand new in a box for 8 months…I finally dragged it out + figured it out and now I used it all the time!!! The key is rinsing it immediately and then washing by hand is no problem…I always kick myself when I let it sit for a while.

I still haven’t tried kale chips…or grocery store doesn’t carry kale much in the winter!
