Spring House

IMG_7864Blog

We haven’t quite lived four seasons in this house. But I think I’m going to go ahead declare it a Spring House.

Dining roomBlog

Some houses shine in the summer with their modern, cool feel or screened in porches; others are so cozy with their fireplaces and Christmas décor.

FoyerBlog-2

This house, with its pastel walls, white trim and well-placed windows and doors, shines in spring.

IMG_7854Blog

I woke up to sunshine pouring onto my face this morning, the windows open and birds chirping. Some might find that annoying, but I think it’s the sun teasing me for all the days I wondered where she was.

Celebratory bowl of oats

In all its deliciousness:

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp ground flax
  • 1/2 banana
  • Pinch salt
  • Cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp cooked wheatberries, stirred in at end
  • 2 tbsp Banana Mango drinkable yogurt, stirred in at end
  • Toppings: Brown rice crispy cereal + coconut + TJ’s sunflower butter

Rooibos – second chance. Better than the first.

This weekend was just fabulous:

Matt and I have tons to do this week. The oven is being installed Tues-Thurs and a lot of other magic needs to happen at the same time. Here goes nothin’!

How exciting about the oven — I still can’t get that picture of the oven pieces out of my head! Hilarious.

We definitely have a “winter” house — it looks best with the blinds open so you can see the snow, and we have lots of “cabin” type things in our house which look best around Christmas!

I have to say- you guys really take care of your rental property! Jasons grandfather rents houses to people and they almost ALWAYS destroy them in some way. I’m sure your land lord appreciates having nice occupants! 😉

A spring house! What a fun perspective to take on a home. I’d never thought about houses/homes in that way, but it’s so true. Fall is my favorite season, so someday when I’m settled and buy a home, maybe I’ll look for one with a fall-feel. 🙂 Hope all goes well with the bakery this week!
