Southern Born + Bread

Yes, bread, not bred!!

Heeeeeeeeeey, y’allll!

Been busy in he’ya!

One customer had filled up her bread card at three different Great Harvests! She cashed it in for a loaf of Cheddar Garlic

Winking smile this !

IMG_0995 (640x427)

I had to taste test a brownie for quality control and then promptly burned it off by cleaning and stacking about 100 loaf pans!

Lunchtime!

IMG_0999 (640x427)

I packed up some garden greens, peppers, and cucumbers along with blue cheese, honey, olive oil and salt and topped it with hummus + our baked Twin Oaks tofu when it was time to eat. [FYI, the honey + olive oil did just fine pre-coated – no major wilting]

IMG_0998 (640x427)

Delicious.

IMG_0996 (640x427)

Matt went home for a nap and I’m holding down the fort. I’m on day 2 of afternoon coffee headaches. I just haven’t wanted a hot cup in the morning! Grrr!!! I’m tempted to just go take a shot of coffee to see if it helps!

For your entertainment…a video for the Wisconsin Cheese & Burger Society! I’m representin’ the South! Bison burger + pepperjack cheese with kale chips!

Also, some of you have reported seeing me in ads around the web for OpenSky on some pretty cool sites. Shiela sent me this one on Pandora – crazy!!!!

Try drinking decaf!! I know it doesn’t taste quite the same, but the tiny amount of caffeine in decaf coffee will keep you from getting those horrible headaches. 🙂 My Dad, who stopped drinking coffee a few months ago, swears by it!

If you can just make it through about a week with no caffeine (from all sources-including chocolate), the caffeine withdraw headaches go away… and you are much better off without caffeine in your system anyway. Red wine can also give the headache too.

Since the nearest GH to me is an hour away, I stock up when I get there and store the bread in the freezer, sometimes up to a month. I double wrap it and it’s fine when it comes out.
