Sleep On It!

You know how they say you absorb more knowledge when you sleep on it? Well I sure did. I studied chemistry on the ET this morning and it was amazing how much clearer my brain was thinking at 5am than at 9:30 last night.

But I have to digress with this story:

(WARNING: If the thought of two married people sleeping in the same bed makes you squeamish, skip ahead

 this !
)

I have a tendency to mumble absurd things just before falling asleep sometimes. Once in college a friend came into my room late at  night and I asked him if he had been playing “that game with a ball and a stick.” He responded that he didn’t know what game I was talking about and I said “oh, yeah, me either.”

So last night, just as I was falling asleep, I apparently scratched the husband’s knee a few times, which was over on my side of the bed. He asked me what I was doing, and I sat up and said “I just wanted to pet the animal!”

I totally didn’t remember the story until we left the gym this morning and he said “Do you remember petting the animal last night?” After he reminded me, I totally remember feeling the fur on his leg and thinking it was a dog! LOL.

Fabulous oats this morning –

DSC04768

  • 1/3 cup oats, 2% milk, water (liked the milk, but the cottage cheese made it hard to do a true evaluation)
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1-2 tbsp raisins
  • 1-2 tbsp wheatberries
  • Vanilla
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese (the husband didn’t want any so I heated it in the microwave in the bottom of my bowl and it curdled. Definitely not as effective as stirring it into the hot oat pot).
  • Granola plank
  • The very last of the Toffee Butter PB 😥

A new tea: Madagascar Vanilla Red Rooibos by Celestial Seasonings

DSC04760

Off to take this test!!! Then I can relax the rest of the week and just get normal stuff done. OMG it’s only a 4-day week because this weekend is FALL BREAK!!! Sweeeeeeet.

I swear my ex used to have full on conversations with me at night and never remember a thing the next morning. Apparently I wasn’t the only one he would talk to in his sleep either. My brothers would refuse to share a hotel room with him at my cousin’s weddings becuase they said his talking/ loud snoring creeped them out. Luckily I’m a heavy sleeper so it neve rbothered me 🙂

Hey Kath – I’m a long time reader, first time commenter – I love your blog! I was just wondering if you’d heard of mona vie yet? It’s a fruit blend made of 19 different fruits, including the acai berry, and it tastes awesome. you’re supposed to drink 2-4 oz twice a day and it provides you with the equivalent of 10-13 servings of fruit (antioxidant-wise)! Just wondering if you (or anyone else) had heard of it yet, or if you’d be interested in more information or trying some. Thanks for all your hard work on the blog – it’s so fun to read!

I had never heard of Earthfare before reading your blog. Does it have sit down meals and food shopping? I am so jealous all the time of your meals. There aren’t any awesome stores like that in the part of NJ I live in.

    mg ,
I haven’t heard of it. But I think my conclusion would be that I’d rather enjoy those fruits fresh and get to chew them. But I would like to see what it’s like someday.

    sarah ,
$10!? Sheesh. I would love another jar, but I might have to wait some time and let the craving develop to pay that much 🙁 Lemme know if you find it in stores.

    Erin ,
EarthFare is an organic/healthy market just like Whole Foods. They also have a cafe with a huge salad bar, sandwiches, deli case, and grill. They are expanding so maybe someday you guys can experience it.

Regarding Mona Vie- I tried it (I received it as a gift) and I really liked it. The only problem is the price- I think it is around $45 for 1 bottles. You take two ‘shot’ glasses of the juice a day- one in the AM and one in the PM. I didn’t notice an improvement in my health, but I’m sure the health benefits are there. I would certainly buy it again if I had extra money floating around, but for now it is just too much money to justify spending (we are about to buy our first house!).
