Shady Sun

Today’s walk into work was a hot one – but also very enjoyable!

It’s so very cool in the shade

IMG_2276 (640x427)

But scorching in the sun!

IMG_2283 (640x427)

IMG_2284 (640x427)

Many of you asked about reading + walking. You just have to hold the magazine so you can see the sidewalk in your side vision – and watch out for tree branches! Just look up every now and then. I don’t think I could read a novel and walk, but magazines’ blurb styles are no big deal.

IMG_2282 (640x427)

We have HAMBURGER BUNS!!! Just in time for the 4th! Best buns ever.

IMG_2286 (640x427)

[I guess my posts are all a little dirty today according to some of your breakfast post comments! First that, then buns!]

IMG_2287 (640x427)

Matt’s taking some time off today, so Karen and I have been working the counter!

She loves to make friends with the customers ; ) She also is feeling SO much better and went to the GYM today! Go Karen!

IMG_2295 (640x427)

Our ovens are so hot in the morning that even though the 40 pan oven has been off for 3 hours, it was still plenty hot enough to warm up our leftover pizza!

IMG_2294 (640x427)

I’ve been looking forward to this lunch all day! And a bonus: I didn’t have to carry my lunch on my back in to work : ) I could eat sandwiches every day and avoid having to pack a lunch, but I really like to have a salad at lunch, so it’s generally been worth the trouble.

The pizza was just as good a day later!

IMG_2291 (640x427)

Greens on the side

IMG_2290 (640x427)

And a small cube of Cinnamon Raisin Bread Pudding bar to cleanse my pizza palate!

IMG_2285 (640x427)

[For those of you who liked Saturday’s Five Bamboo red dress, they offered a coupon code for 15% off  from now till the end of July – enter katheats15 at checkout!]

Today has been awesomely busy – fun times!!

YAY!! GO KAREN!! I’m so glad she’s feeling better – I think about her often and hope for her health and wellness!

Dare I say that leftover pizza looks even better than it did right out of the oven?? I’m a sucker for leftover pizza (as long as it’s reheated!)

Loved the walking+reading tips! Haha. I’ll have to put them to use.

Also – I desperately want those buns for the fourth! They look so fluffy and doughy and delicious!!

That’s how it is here, too. So hot in the sun, but beauuuutiful and cool in the shade 🙂 I walk all the time while reading, it looks so dangerous but it’s a great way to get exercise, sun, and get your reading done!

I can read anything on my stationary bike. I can read magazines on the treadmill but I can’t read and walk (chew gum & walk – ok). I like to think while I walk. I find it’s a great time to be introspective and I feel I’d miss so much that is going on around me. That’s just me, though.
