Same Old, Same Old

I’ve got a boring Monday going on here. Nothing exciting to type about!!

‘Cept maybe my yummy leftover dog! I had a pesto one from Saturday night’s party on an Ezekiel bun. I ate him cold with some mustard and it was so delicious! This would make a great quick lunch to pack since chicken sausages are usually pre-cooked. If you like, put it in the microwave for 30 seconds before you pack your lunch. I’m definitely going to have this again.

I also had some of Kate’s fabulous cranberry walnut salad. No dressing – just delicate greens, walnuts and cranberries.

Grapes –

And Chobani with the bottom of the Quaker Oatmeal Squares. I sifted through the squares to get to the smaller sized pieces.

I don’t think Organic Lab ( 👿 ) should be too painful today since we’re wrapping up 2 weeks ago’s topic. Just a bit more time to kill before I go.

Adios!

Chicken sausage is great! I had some last night – it had gouda in it and was delicious.

Have fun at organic lab 😉

I love eating the cereal from the bottom of the box when its all crushed. Perfect for yogurt. It also tastes the best to me for some odd reason.

I never thought of eating a cooked sausage like that before.

I like to roll my bananas in the bottom bits of cereal – the best is Kashi Go Lean Crunch!

This may sound like a silly question, but do chicken sausages taste like actual sausage? I hate sausage but like kielbasa (polish sausage). I’ve been wanting to try the chicken version but want to make sure that I’ll like it. Thanks!

Goodness I love chicken sausage – Applegate Farms (I think) makes a chicken and apple sausage that is the perfect blend of sweet and savory. Delicious!!

    Hi Kath!

Long time reader – but this is my first comment.
I love your blog! We have the same love for pretty plates+bowls, oatmeal, and lists. =P

But let me tell you how envious I am of you and all the american readers! There are so many foods available in the US that I’m just dying to try, but aren’t available in Canada. Greek yogurt, tons of Kashi products, etc! I wish we had more of a selection!

Lol, there’s another Lisa posting, and oddly enough we share a deep love of crunched-up cereal! I’ve been known to tilt the bag and deliver the little bits directly to my mouth. I mean, otherwise they stick to your fingers and you get all crumbly.

You are so disciplined to eat lettuce with no dressing! I love those greens, but I only can do it if I’m REALLY desperate i.e. if there is only French or bottled ranch dressing available. Nasty.

I love pesto, the dog is screaming my name!

    Good luck with your lab {which is probably over by now!}

    Mariel ,
It totally depends on the sausage. Some are designed to be more like pork ones (the sweet Italian we had this weekend, for ex.) but others are wacko in the flavor dept! There’s one I LOVE by AmyLu – Apple and Gouda. And cabernet and I saw Chardonnay recently but it had onions in it 🙁 Pesto, jalapeno, sundried tomato. All kinds of flavors! I would say they overall do tasted like a hot dog though.

    Lee ,
I don’t snack often. I used to LIVE by snacks, but I’ve found that I got a little obsessed with thinking about them and have moved more to having bigger meals. I often need a snack around 4-5pm but not always (like today I didn’t have one, but did have a few PB bites).

    Jessica ,
    Thanks for your first comment!

I love the whole “healthy hotdog” thing. I’ve been eating the Jennie-O turkey beer brats. They’re a bit small, but yummy.
