Rocking Chair

Foodblog-3501

Good morning friends!!

Foodblog-3503

How many days has it been since I had hot oats? A week? This was a perfect bowl! A big bowl too. I’ve been out of granola (aka toppings) so I’ve been making 1/2 cup of oats serving instead.

This bowl of whipped banana oatmeal also had mixins of cottage cheese and blackberries (stirred in at end) and Nat. Nutty Cinnamon Vanilla Almond Butter! My favorite nut butter of the moment.

Mmm those blackberries look so plump and delicious! I haven’t had any this Summer because they are like 5 dollars a pint here! But I definitely will have to keep an eye out for them at the farmers market this weekend! Maybe I can score a deal!

Whoa that’s high for blackberries! Ours (in Ohio) have mostly been $1-$2 a pint this summer. 🙂

Vanilla and cinnamon AND nut butter… hmmm… not sure I’ve seen it in stores here but it sounds easy enough to make at home… gonna try it for sure. Have a great day Kath!

The blackberries you’ve been posting look so juicy and gorgeous! I recently bought some frozen ones to throw in yogurt, but it’s not quite the same. So jealous!

Since you’re currently out of granola, I wanted to show you one that I stumbled upon recently: http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Path-Granola-Coconut-12-34-Ounce/dp/B007PQTIRI/ref=sr_1_24?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1344472742&sr=1-24 I’ve not had a chance to try it, but it seems right up your alley with both coconut and chia included!

When you use granola as a topping what is your portion size for both the dry oats and the granola?

    🙂 Thanks!
