Real Simple

A simple morning because I did all of my packing yesterday.

Some writing. Some gymming. I did a real simple workout with Real Simple the magazine: just some ellipticalling plus biking to-and-fro. I was quite hungry when I returned!!

IMG_9413

Sardine salad over garden greens with pumpkin seeds, High Fiver Fiber and Matt Cracks.

IMG_9409

The sardine salad was made just like the video

IMG_9406

And the bread drizzled with some local honey!

IMG_9407

Real simple.

IMG_9404

And with that, I am packing up my backpack (I chose comfort over style) and am headed to the Amtrak station! My first time on an Amtrak in the USA. I’m a little nervous!

Can’t wait to see EMILY and then all of YOU at Foodbuzz this weekend!! I have a weird mentality about trips. When I first sign up/book them I am super excited. But then as they loom, I start to dread the travel. I hate packing and getting dirty traveling. But then the moment arrives when it’s time to leave and suddenly I realize that I am going somewhere FUN and I get really excited.

That moment just hit!!!

I was wondering about that too. It’s not like the old covered wagon or coal train days. Back then, I’ve read people really got dirty.

Have fun on the train 🙂

I dread trips right until the day I leave — the packing, the stress, the taking off of work, etc, feels like too much!

I look forward to trips in advance too. Once they actually approach I get worried. Then I enjoy the trip and can’t wait to get home. I’m totally a home-body!

I feel the same way about traveling. It doesn’t help that I am the worlds worst packer (of the over-packing variety)

I going to try making some Matt Cracks (even though that name just seems so wrong, somehow) this weekend, because I’ve really been craving a salty, crunchy snack in the afternoon. So far, I’ve avoided the temptation and packaging of buying store-bought, but I need to do something!

I have a similar love-hate relationship with travel. I like the idea but get pretty stressed leading up to the actual trip — and the expense can be stressful.

Ha! So funny. I’m EXACTLY the same way. As the trip gets closer, I think about how much I don’t want to leave my dog and my daily routine.
As for getting dirty travelling, my biggest thing is putting my head on headrests that I just KNOW don’t get washed. It makes me really nervous. And now there’s all the stuff about
    beg bugs?!!! Eeewwww!

I am so the same way about traveling. When my kids were smaller, the stress was always about dealing with forgetting their things. I don’t know why I stressed so much about it since we could always just go to the store to get what they needed…I just hate having to go through trouble.

I totally relate to that feeling you expressed about traveling or really anything I have planned. A friend called it “Antipcation Stress” and that kind of summed it up for and made me feel better knowing that other people experience it also. When the day actually arrives, like you said, it’s all good! Enjoy 🙂 Don’t get too dirty..LOL

I totally get your “getting dirty while traveling thing”…I am not a germ-a-phobe by any means(I’m a country girl!!), but something about all the stale air, and people packed into tiny places, and yes, those restrooms, can really do me in! But in the end, it’s worth it! Traveling is pretty cool in general…have a lovely time…wish i could be there too!
