Pumpkin See, Pumpkin Do

Back to normal. Went to bed at 10:26 and up in the sixers to make some pumpkin oats 🙂

IMG_9178 (640x427)

IMG_9175 (640x427)

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk, water
  • 1 tiny banana
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin, stirred in at end
  • Cinnamon + Vanilla
  • Crumbled Maple Almond Crunch granola plank
  • Costco PB

I was actually very disappointed with the new granola planks 🙁 I used to eat these all the time back in the day and they were very soft and crumbly. Now they are sticky and are very hard so that crumbling was very difficult. I had to get a knife out to cut it! It almost tasted stale it was so dry. The company lowered the calories (and probably fat) and that fat is very much missed!

Melted PB fell off!!

Paper time! Then Sculpt class time. Then lunch time. Then paper time. Then pizza time!

Kath, let me just tell you that you have completely inspired my oatmeal! I have been eating oatmeal in the morning for almost a year now, and had the plain ol’ toppings (milk, butter, raisins, sweet something). I love adding granola now! This morning, I tried the PB for the first time. YUM!!! It tasted like a warm bowl of peanut butter cookie batter. Incredible! Thank you!!!!

DUDE! i had the same experience with the planks. it tasted stale and old to me, and i was sad that i didn’t like it b/c i trust your recommendations so much! i DO however like the square bars — A LOT! they taste like delicious, only somewhat healthy cookies to me. the almond one has a strong almond butter presence.

I actually really like the new planks! If you want them softer, you should try microwaving them for about 10 seconds or so… they get really soft and chewy. My favorite is to pop one in the toaster! YUM!

Hi there!! I made pumpkin oats today too!! Actually, last night..they were overnight oats =) So so good w/the Stonyfield pumpkin yogurt + pumpkin puree combo! I don’t think I ever had the Honest Foods granola planks in their older version..I have had 2 with this newer packaging look. I have thought both were just “okay.” Sucks that they used to be better! =( Have a great weekend! Sitting at the airport….off to Ohio and then driving to MI, with the fam, for my grandpa’s funeral. Thankfully, Chris is with me for this trip!
