Pop Up, Down Dog

There’s new yoga in town: Pop Up Yoga!

IMG_1274-2Blog

Pop Up Yoga strives for affordable classes ($10 each) and hosts pop-up yoga classes in a variety of open spaces around town. BUT they also have a new quazi-studio space (I said quazi because it’s shared with a dance tango studio).

Why am I so excited for Pop Up? Vinyasa flow classes, music, and the cool factor. My favorite style!

Mat on bike!

IMG_1272-2Blog

Jacqueline is the founder and she led the first studio class today. Although unfortunately her phone broke so there was no music, the class was still great. All my favorite poses! I can tell it was good because I have that headachy detox feeling. It’s been SO long since I’ve been a regular yoga practicer. Need to work on that! My shoulders and upper body are already sore.

IMG_1273-2Blog

Back at home I’ve been trying to get to the bakery as fast as possible but I got too hungry and then too many emails arrived! This week has just felt crazy to me. I don’t know if it’s the looming trip tomorrow or just a general increase in things to do, but I’ve only felt calm twice this week: during dance class and yoga today!

IMG_5015-2Blog

I threw together a quick lunch with leftover cuc + tomato salad, black beans, tomato sauce, an egg and Cville Crunch bread. Kind of a panzanella if you will!

IMG_5013-3BlogIMG_5012-2BlogIMG_5009-2BlogIMG_5011-2Blog

And NOW I’m biking to the bakery so I can relieve Matt go to drink a beer (or something ; ) )

Pop Up Yoga sounds very refreshing. Sometimes the same ol’ yoga class over and over again can get pretty boring.

And have a great trip! Can’t wait for the recap.

The yoga class sounds great!! I am a vinyasa yoga enthusiast myself. And there is nothing better than my post yoga lunch! It always tastes awesome for some reason!

I love my yoga days — i feel great the rest of the day! I hope you do, too!

Regardless, keep up the great work. We all appreciate your consistent blogging!

I haven’t done a yoga class in so long. I do DVD’s or my own routines most mornings before I get ready for work (around 5AM) but no companionship. I think I need to have people around me for awhile. It’s easy to get lazy in pozes when you don’t have others around. The pop-up idea sounds great.

First a scuffin mobile and now a mat mobile! That is one multi purpose bike you have there 🙂 (let’s just pretend the scuffin mobile wasn’t Matt’s bike if it was)

Glad you got some yoga in your life! I always leave feeling so wonderful which makes me wonder why I don’t do it as consistently as I’d like.

Aren’t those moments of calm between the craziness so fantastic?! I can relate.

Keep our new bag, the Accel in mind if you are looking for another option for biking with your yoga mat (http://livewell360.com/shop/accel). It fits snuggly to your back when worn as a messenger (even on a bike), and the removable yoga mat straps make it not only the perfect yoga companion, but it works great as a day bag too.

Kath, you and me both! I flew to Boulder, here now, fly home later today. I have a big dinner event tomorrow night, then am seeing you 🙂 !! and then there are other events all weekend b/c of Blogher being in San Diego.

I have not felt calm really at all this week. Except for when I went out on a mountain alone last nite 🙂 Peace. Solitude. Beauty!

That looks fantastic!! I did some yoga this moring, too. Was doing a sequence that I pulled from a magazine but ended up just doing flows that I remembered from various classes. Sometimes you just need to follow your body’s cues and mine was not liking what I was doing.

Yes! I thought it was just me! I took notice where Kath said “I have that headachy detox feeling”. We do a lot of down dog in my vinyasa class and sometimes I come home feeling crummy–even child’s pose is too much pressure sometimes. What’s up with that??
