Avocado Does A Burger Make

Another KERF reader friend visited today and brought me beer from Charleston!! I’m really loving this current trend

 this !
We can’t wait to try it!

IMG_5018-2Blog

Siggi’s!! I bought a few of these to keep at the bakery for healthy snacktime. Topped with some cluster!

IMG_5016-3Blog

We had a great day of sales today – we sold out of all but two loaves of bread!!

I biked home at 6:30 to find Karen on our porch swing halfway through a bottle of wine! We had big plans for our burger night. I poured myself a glass to join her and managed to snap a photo before it was almost gone!

IMG_5019-2Blog

The burgers tonight were delish! We went vegetarian this week:

IMG_5026-2Blog

They were black bean + mushroom + garlic burgers (I add the garlic because it was stra-ong!). Don’t have a recipe to share because we didn’t think they were the best burgers ever. They fell apart on us a bit.

IMG_5021-2BlogIMG_5020-2Blog

Avocado does a burger make.

IMG_5023-2Blog

On the side: sauteed brussels sprouts with blue d’auvergne (dough-vair-gna, right!?)

IMG_5025-2BlogIMG_5029-2Blog

Watermelon for dessert!

My shoulders are SO sore from handstands and lots of down dog today. I convinced Matt to massage them while I worked on my post and we listed to the best movie tunes ever.

Although the session began with the Olympic Fanfare – one of us started whistling it and it caught on!

These are my top 5 favorite movie themes in order. What are your favorites?

5) E.T. + Jurassic Park (a tie for 5th place!)

4) Home Alone + Harry Potter (a tie for 4th!)

3) Lord of the Rings

2) Independence Day

1) Pirates of the Caribbean!!

I love the Cold Mountain (Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Renee Zellwegger) soundtrack! Of course, most of you are probably too young to remember that!

Pirates of the Carribbean is my favorite as well! Lord of the Rings is also pretty awesome…

I’m guessing those delicious looking burger buns are another bakery product – I’m going to have to visit your bakery and try all these delicious breads next time I’m in Charlottesville!

    Movies that have awesome music:
    -Gladiator
    -300
    -Avatar
    -Black Hawk Down
    -Thin Red Line

Actually anything Hans Zimmer is how that list is going.

The burgers look amazing despite the fact they fell apart.

Last of the Mohicans tops my list for favorite movie score, definitely.
I was the geeky kid at age 14 (when the movie came out) that had the soundtrack. 🙂
I still love it, to this day. Living in the NC Mtns, and working for the Biltmore made me love it EVEN more as an adult.

I”m in love with your smashed avocado! Mmm.

This doesn’t fall in the best theme song, but the whole Dances With Wolves soundtrack is great. I think it really captures the grandeur of the Great Plains. (and full disclosure – I’m from Nebraska, so I may be biased!) 🙂

I had a turkey burger last night…no cheese or condiments needed, just avocado and green chilies. Love green chilies!

My favorite movie song is the JAMES BOND theme! Have to be careful in the car when it comes on. It makes me drive a little fast. 😀

    Other fave movie soundtracks:
    -Akeelah and the Bee
    -Frida
    -Ocean’s Eleven
