Pep In My Step

IMG_9502-2Blog

I slept pretty well last night, but I’m still so tired! I could easily go back to bed if I had all the time in the world. Instead there are things that need to be done!

IMG_9501-2Blog

I hoped a bowl of oatmeal would put some pep in my step – a delightful mix of whipped banana oats with strawberries, granola and almond butter.

IMG_9504-2Blog

I hope you all had delicious breakfasts as well! Want to talk about food some more? Today’s BERF post is all about it.

I had a good night sleel as well, but I am so tired that I think I will fall asleep at my desk, I hoped my breakfast would wake me up but nothing helps, and I hate coffee! 🙁

Ugh I HATE days like that! So weird how sometimes you can get less sleep and feel fabulous and then some days you get plenty and just can’t wake up!

I’m just curious about your portioning for your oats. I find that if I try to eat more than a 1/3 cup (dry, which I think makes about a 1/2 cup prepared or so.. maybe a little more) that I just feel too full, uncomfortably so. Which makes it hard to add fun toppings. So I got to wondering about your portioning because your bowls look so full! But maybe you’re using small bowls??

I use 1/3 a cup and plump it up with banana + fruit. I have a big stomach!

Well that’s just about what ends up being perfect for me, leaving room to plump it with the goodies. I think my bowls must be bigger than yours, so it makes my 1/3 cup plus goodies look smaller. btw- I added strawberries for the first time today (and we just opened our first bag of chia seeds) and they were delish warm in the oatmeal. Even my husband liked it and he’s not a huge oats fan but I make him switch it out from eggs twice a week for his cholesterol and blood pressure… Although he keeps teasing me about the chia seeds, talking about how FULL he is.. since they plump up so much..haha.

🙂 My bowls do range a lot in size. My Pottery Barn ones (the one lunch salad is coming in a few mins) are much bigger
